How does a volunteer get told not to volunteer with no explanation. I have asked for an explanation and can't get one. I've reached out to major no response.this is like at school. A child is bullied and told to stay away from the bully. The bully then controls everybody else. While the one bullied stands alone and says" I should never have said anything." Now I'm alone with no support. No explanation for why I am being devolunteered. Can somebody help with this?

In order to get a dessert, a person usually lines up an hour before. If not for their help, many families would go hungry. God bless The Salvation Army!!!

Salvation Army’s decision to turn this location into a free food handout has had more negative impact on the deterioration of downtown Fairfield than any other single factor. Salvation Army is a bad neighbor and they have turned a once charming area into a blighted homeless magnet. This spills onto Texas Street and to business offices nearby. They refuse to even speak with residents about the rampant crime on their property and its effect on downtown residents, not to mention the strain on local law enforcement who have to respond to many calls there. This location is inappropriate for this service when we are working so hard to revitalize our struggling downtown business reputation. Residents find boxes and bags full of discarded food all over downtown. Just because this service is needed does not mean Salvation Army should not be clean, safe, and responsible providing such services. Shame on them!

the negative impact that people blame the salvation army for doesn't just stem from fairfield/ suisun's homeless community. The mess primarily comes from those here in Solano county who suffer from a array of mental health issues. that go untreated and just get swept under Solano co jails door mat. Where they are just drugged and released.I remember at a conference that n.a.m.i held Solano county was ranked and the lower percentile of lack of services for those who are suffering mental health issues and homelessness. So instead of falling hard on non profits whom take the brunt of the verbal, physical and emotional hardships of caring/helping/ dealing with these individuals. try not to be so judgemental towards them because of a few eyesores and ask our county what they are going to do to ease it for all of us and those whom suffer as well. And I am speaking from a first hand p.o.v. not an outsiders
