I stayed at the Christy House for a month. It was rough, but much better than being on the streets. There are only about 3 workers with genuine compassion for the homeless. I believe their names were Michelle, Victor, and Frank. Everyone else felt like they were just there to collect a paycheck and were extremely self-centered.
I was planning on asking for an extension in-person, as I was told to do. The day I walked to their office was a Friday, and they had closed early without notice. I never got my extension because I was told asking any earlier than 2 days before your last will guarantee you a denial for your extension. They're not open on the weekend, and for whatever reason Charlie was eager to have me out & gone. I was quiet and kept to myself and didn't cause any trouble, so I'm having a hard time understanding what his deal was.
I kept running into people I stayed with at the Christy House downtown, asking them if they're still there. They said they were allowed to stay longer without asking for an extension because Charlie gave them special permission. Yet I was scolded by him numerous times about how I shouldn't dare ask Theresa for an extension because "she grants them for no one."
I'll give 2 stars because they did resolve an issue I was having rather promptly, and because I enjoyed the company of most of the other tenants. Other than that, I think Charlie needs to be fired or investigated for special treatment, misinformation and just overall being allowed to work there with his notorious reputation of his disregard for the homeless.

Just would like to say for a place that is supposed to help and support people in need doesn’t seem very true!! When certain workers treat some residents unfairly and some not, holding meals from people (ESPECIALLY CHILDREN), there are multiple complications within the housing itself that should NOT be happening!! Something needs done or someone needs to look into these certain workers, and the way residents are treated there!

this environment is not safe for kids or for anyone the beds are duck taped broken the window are broken and they have camera that dont work staff curse at the residents ther e mistreat us with verbal abuse we don't get fed like human we get fed like dogs to much stuff happening and there's no help till cops are involved

I just called them and whoever the lady was that answered the phone current time 12:23 pm wed October 29th 2022
She very unprofessional and not helpful at all. People like that shouldn't be put in the position of social work.
