They lack confidentiality. I went in to speak about the harm I experienced from AWARE staff and was victim blamed by leadership. They have a lot of decolonizing to do - internal work and are not a safe space for all. They are a needed service in our community - but are not a safe service - which is unfortunate as they have a lot of potential to do good.

I am a victim of very serious charges.
Yet, recently Kim Sumner and LiIy unkindly told me I'm not welcome there!!! Before. Mandi said , "Of course you may stay here, Lynda!Ang0l11q+pAnd so I did. Little did I know that a month later, when I asked to stay there Again, that Kim Sumner and Advocate Supervisor, Lilly, ( last name unknown) would açcuse me of ..."appearing to be on drugs" when I stayed there last, a month prior. When these two seemingly were worried about me "being on drugs ", they did not even ask or confront me on whether or not I was "on drugs "
At that time. Instead they waited until a month later to açcuse me of taking drugs and not allow me to stay AT AWARE! KIM Sumner even hung up on me and yesterday called to say she never did that, but she blamed an advocate of using her name and hanging upon me! I disagreed
because i know Kim Sumner was is Lying to me!!! Kim said I could stay there for 2 days in the Observation Room, but no longer! I am so fed up with these 2 Advocates! HOW CAN THEY DENY A STRANGULATION VICTIM A PLACE TO STAY AT THEIR SHELTER WHEN ITS THE SUPPORT I NEED? I cannot believe they based their decisionto BAN ME FROM AWARE ON FALSE ACCUSATIONS OF DRUG USE! Plus to have Kim Sumner lie to me about an advocate using her name to hang up on me! That was a Iie ànd uncalled for. I thought Kim was honest but I was so wrong about her. KiIM SUMMER IS A LIAR BECAUSE SHE LIED TO ME.
I HAVE BEEN TREATED UNFAIRLY BY THESE ADVOCATES AND I WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT I!!
