I called today to ask who his administrator was for the Pioneer home. The young man who answered the phone said that he knew the administrators name but he wasn’t willing to give it to me. It makes me wonder why?
I think that the Pioneer home internal procedures need to be looked at more closely. Full transparency needs be implemented to ensure that proper care is being given to our elders. My daughter frequently goes to visit a friend of hers who is a senior citizen. And every time she returns from visiting there she is upset by the way she is treated by the staff. If the staff is treating my young adult in a not so friendly way it makes you wonder how they’re treating the residents. Perhaps it’s not their intention to discourage people from visiting but it is the impression given. And the fact that they aren’t willing to be accountable by giving out the administrators name really makes me feel like I need to be checking into this a little more closely as well.
