Yoga of Los Altos feels like old-school California yoga at its very best. The studio is no-nonsense and nicely vibe-y. But mostly the teachers are amazing and the other students are welcoming and you leave the classes feeling like you've gotten a great experience all the way around.

When I attended LA Yoga classes, instead of helping me relax, they caused me unnecessary stress. My husband asked me what I wanted as a New Year’s present, and I requested a set of Los Altos Yoga passes. He purchased them on December 30, 2024, and emailed me the receipt.

When I attended my first class on December 31, Evalyne Chen informed me there was an issue with my registration. She canceled it and charged my husband’s credit card again. As a result, my husband received a second charge and an additional receipt from LA Yoga (the first was from December 30, 2024).

Today, January 19, I visited LA Yoga again. The staff claimed they didn’t see any charges from my husband’s credit card in their system and told me I owed them money for the classes I attended on December 31 and January 19. I am extremely upset because both times I visited LA Yoga (on December 31 and January 19), I was stressed due to lengthy conversations with their staff. Each time, I had to spend more than 10 minutes explaining the situation and showing the receipt my husband sent me.

Instead of relaxing, I was worried during the class about why they couldn’t locate my husband’s payment. This has happened twice now, and it has ruined my experience.

To clarify, my husband checked his credit card statement today. He confirmed that LA Yoga issued a refund on December 31 (as Evalyne Chen mentioned) and then charged the card again on the same day. I’m surprised and frustrated that their staff couldn’t locate this transaction, even though it was processed by one of their own employees in their studio. My husband can see the transaction on our credit card statement, so why can’t LA Yoga?

I sincerely hope that during my next visit to LA Yoga, I can enjoy my class without having to deal with these payment issues again. Please resolve this problem so I can use my New Year’s gift as intended—stress-free and relaxing.

Another aspect of why I love the classes at YOLA: the music selected by the teachers. I especially enjoy the selections that Dina uses in her vinyasa classes. That is another reason her classes are so special. The music helps me focus while progressing through the asanas.

I really enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, and meditative aspects. There’s an understanding of lateness and having to leave on time or early. I also love the explanations that accompany the poses themselves. I especially enjoy Jen’s Yin class. Grateful to have found YOLA.
