Large contemporary congregation with progressive outreach programs benefiting the local communities of color, gender, disparate income and housed circumstances. The pastoral leadership has blessed us with their unique ability to present the good news of the bible in spiritual context with the challenges of today. I walked into their sanctuary ten years ago, and am a devoted volunteer both in session and committee outreach today. If you are seeking, if you are looking for a perspective, if you want community that transcends career, this may help you find an answer.

WPC has recently completed a ten year renovation plan, culminating in renewed organizational and gathering spaces, as well as much needed structural retrofit. Post-pandemic, the church is launching new streaming hybrid programs and navigating congregational support options in the new normal.

I've been a member for 25 years, and it's a remarkable spiritual home. Wonderful people of all ages, extraordinary preaching (intelligent, compassionate, challenging, spiritually grounded), inclusive/loving community, active membership groups, great youth programs, supportive deacons programs that help those in need, a newly renovated building (including a newly built-in labyrinth), and more. I love this church and met many of my close friends here. A notable lack of gossip and a place where you can learn, explore, respectfully challenge, grow, nourish and be nourished. A truly great church!

We joined WPC 20 years ago. The intergenerational exposure is so important for my family. For example, my son interviewed a WWII vet from the church for a grammar school project. The weekly connection to the church community, particularly through the sharing of joys and concerns during the service, broadens our perspective and deepens our empathy for others. A women's meditation group has provided vital support during pivotal life moments. Opportunities to serve abound through the bagged lunch program, diaper distribution for the needy, food bank service, Habit for Humanity projects, creating floral arrangements for Sunday service, singing in the choir etc. From pancake breakfasts, picnics in the park, small group dinners and monthly hikes there are many ways to get to know congregants outside of the Sunday service. Both sons were confirmed at the church and loved participating in the summer service trips and recruited friends from outside the church to join as well. Jeff has been a great source of encouragement and a spiritual perspective for the boys. We love hearing Rob and Bethany's sermons both in person and online.

It's a group of intelligent, thoughtful, accomplished people who share admirable values. It's a group of people with whom I am proud to be associated. While this is certainly a church, they are not fundamentalists. Rather, they are open to new ideas, new ways of living and new relationships. A friend recommended this church to me even though we don't live in southern Marin. It's worth the drive. The people are welcoming and friendly. We greatly enjoy being part of this group, this congregation, this church family.

Our family joined WPC 22 years ago and have never looked back! It's been the ideal church community for us - warm, welcoming, casual, and blessed with extraordinary pastoral leadership and a fantastic Youth ministry. Our son started in the nursery, came up through the wonderful Sunday school program, and had amazing experiences on a youth mission trip. One of the best things about WPC is the focus on nurturing children and ensuring that they feel loved and cared for -- including the fun and beautiful Time of Discovery ritual during Sunday sermons, where the pastor sits on the floor with the kids and engages them in a "child's-eye" (and often laughter-filled) version of the day's lesson. It's a treat for the whole congregation! Having originally come for the sermons, we've stayed for the strong sense of community, the variety of mission-driven outreach activities, and the many opportunities for spiritual renewal --always in a non-judgmental manner - like the incredible 4-day 'pilgrimage' a group of us recently enjoyed at the Presbyterian retreat center on Lake Tahoe. And yes, the weekly sermons continue to be as absorbing, thought-provoking, challenging and humorous as ever! For the hesitant, rest assured that WPC welcomes 'seekers' as heartily as believers!

What a great group of people I have found here. Some prove to be lifelong friends. It is a very active faith based spiritual community open to folks of all ages —from young families, to couples to singles who seek spiritual meaning and purpose in life.

And when there is a special need, this church supports you. When I lost my husband four years ago the congregation came to my support in many surprising ways. And for that, I am grateful more than words can express.

In addition to caring for one another, there are a variety of social activities from mens and womens groups, to hiking the trails of Marin, special breakfasts and small group dinners, a book club, speakers who talk on a variety of topics, plus many community volunteer opportunities.

When our kids were little we went church shopping. We wanted them to have a strong Christian foundation but one that fit with our progressive values. We chose Westminster for its attention to tradition, community of kind, intelligent people, and ability to leave us feeling better about life and the world after each service. We chose well and have been happily attending church since 2004.

Westminster is a place to grow in your thinking about your faith life. I am not a Presbyterian but I am always welcome as are people of all faiths. The Westminster "welcome" includes friendship, community, curiosity, intellectual thinking, joy and engagement in the broader interfaith community. If you are looking for a place to be in community, to stretch your thinking, to challlenge your inner life and to become more engaged in the social issues of our area and beyond....this is a place worth trying. You will be invited to share your talents, your reflections and prayers, and to be curious about new ways of experiencing the world. I'm someone who has always been on a faith journey; a believer, skeptic and challenger all in one. I love that Westminster welcomes all parts of me.
