Circumstances left me devastated as I found myself Homeless and living out of my car with a broken window and windshield. I was cold, scared, lonely, sad, and isolated. My basic Human needs were not being fulfilled. I came across West Valley Community Services and I spoke to a nice man on the phone named Abel who told me that he may be able to help me. He offered to see what he could do about repairing the broken windows of my car. After a few days he got back to me with a repair location for me to go to so my windows can be replaced with brand new ones! I felt so Blessed and beyond Grateful for the assistance I was to receive! He also surprised me with a warm cozy blanket and offered me nourishment with the opportunity to receive a bag of fresh and hearty food options to choose from. I felt cared for and Loved. I am so very Thankful for all the positivity and assistance that I have received from West Valley Community Services. It made me feel like a Human again and gave me Hope! The loving generosity changed my Life! Now that I have a roof over my head and more stability I have decided to join the West Valley Community Services Team and Volunteer my time giving back and showing all of my appreciation. I'd like the opportunity for others in need of some assistance and relief to feel Loved like I did.
Thank You for all the Love and Hope that you provide to the community ❣️

There is a fear among non-profits that they will lose their funding if another non-profit suggests services. However, my proposals are funded directly from corporations with the explicit demand that no current non-profits lose their funding. West Valley Community Services has their own niche, but it doesn't include housing the homeless, only feeding them and providing ancillary services, not housing. Communities can't say "We fed you, that's enough." Because it isn't enough, you haven't fulfilled your obligation to house your transitioning residents. Look, I am talking about our government taking the responsibility for the welfare of all people, not just San Jose or Sunnyvale or Mt. View, but the entire Santa Clara County Community. Imagine emergency housing available immediately after an earthquake, a way to accommodate residents during wild fires. A system that ensures housing no matter what. Sure at first it will be for housing the homeless, but we're going to end homelessness as it is today, unmanageable: that's the goal. We're pretty sure earthquakes are a fact of life here along this particular fault line, right? and we're expecting some activity regardless if we live in a Democracy or a GOP Dictatorship. It would be nice to have some place which can accommodate the community at large ready to go, wouldn't it? I don't think it's too much to ask the Oligarchs.

They were able to help me out but the scheduling for appointments is weird and not conducive to the summer temperatures. Do not schedule for 1pm and expect to come in 10 minutes early. They're closed until exactly 1 and sometimes don't open up until as late as 1:10

What a wonderful organization and staff. These are the best people I have seen in America. They helped me in difficult times. I especially want to express my gratitude to Ellen Trieu, who is a true professional and a good person.

How come credit cards scammers can use this organization to test stolen card credentials ? It should not be possible to expense or "test" on your website without an authy or 3D verification otherwise you are just accomplice of the cyber crime. Please have your credit card donations IT system upgraded asap. I live in Europe and have not autorized any expense in California.

They ask waaay too many questions just to get food. Honestly not worth it at all. I rather starve than give the ID of everyone in my family. Rental info? Income? For what? I just need food. But the food was the lowest quality for a food bank, there was rocks in my beans. Now I gotta dumpster dive in the back of Safeway for food

Be careful card verification and transactions request coming from this place … in UK and Europe / scam fraud

Edit : no doubt it’s not you, but other people need to know as it’s a common issue, maybe put a message on your website and file a complaint. Thanks for what you’re doing for the community

Oh my goodness, to think that a person would criticize an outfit which is entirely that of giving and caring for others in the true manner of community, well it is beyond me. Needless to say , I've ever always been treated with respect and dignity. The volunteer staff are most pleasant and diligent in their efforts. I go there usually on Fridays where I can ,most of the time, score on some very healthy fresh produce and other tantalizing goodies.
Today I was the very last client and got all the remaining cherry tomatoes which I made into a beef stew . It tastes devine.
Thank you West Valley Community services! You are the finest.
