I have recently not been able to work due to being 8 months pregnant. I'm a single mom that works 6 days a week usually. I have received Tanf before when my 8 was born to help.me get on my feet I had the most amazing experience ca and was so proud to be native. NOW I ONCE AGAIN TRIED TO APPLY DUE TO FINANCIAL PROBLEMS AND HAVE BEEN TREATED SO AWEFUL. EVERY TIME I CALL I TREATED RUDE AND TOLD MY WORKER IS IN TRAINING ALLL THE TIME I NEVER GET CALLED BACK. I ASK WHERE MY CASE IS AT BECuse I have no money and Im told it's not even been reviewed, ON TOP OF NEEDING TO DO MORE TO EVEN HAVE MY CASE REVIEWED. I have had no gas to drive from escalon to stockton and was offered to have a worker come to my house so I can sign papers that took 3 days with me bugging them to do so. I finally get that done and call 2 days later to once again see if my case was previewed and my worker is once again out of office for next 3 days. I told tanf it was a emergency and no one seems to care about the clients anymore. I feel like I get pushed around and not told about what I need to qualify. It's been since 7-30 since I worked and about to lose my home that I share with my 8 year old Native son. It's sad that no one wants to help anymore and I used to love to come to Tanf now i feel like I'm frowned upon for going thru a hard time. I have never been so ashamed to be apart of something Native and so sad I'm not going to have a home to take my unborn baby too next month. I have been soo stressed on how I can get food in table let alone be forced to live in a shelter. I still have my full time job but can not return until December. Now I feel like it's a chore to ask if my case was reviewed and told "oh it takes 6 weeks anyway" to be able to get card or anything. What do I do?
