If there was a 0 star I would be leaving that one. I have used them in the past and the workers that come to your home are awesome. But I called them to get coverage for my mom again and had to leave a message and they said someone would call me back. Never called...so I placed another call to them the next day. I even reached out to one of the workers and asked if they were still in business and she said yes. I informed her that no one called me back...she said she would reach out to them. NEVER heard back from them. Even told them if your unable to cover just let me know so I can make other arrangements. I don't recommend them at all.

For right now I'm giving this agency 5 stars because of how nice the lady today I spoke with but, We'll see after awhile. Time will tell. My deaf and C. P. wife and I are moving from this HELL HOLE (Birmingham, Jefferson County) to HEAVEN (Cullman) in days to come soon. We'll need caregivers there so hopefully this agency can find us some good help. If not I'll edit this review to let everybody know.

Overall we were satisfied with the care received. I had to hire caregivers for my husband for a period of 3 months because I had to have back surgery and was unable to care for my husband who had been disabled by a severe stroke. Several of our angels were extremely helpful. They gave my husband great care and did light housekeeping without me having to ask for their help. They also helped me in the first few days home from my surgery. I gave only 3 stars for those caregivers who did very little beyond basic care for my husband and would sit and watch me do chores that I wasn’t really supposed to do for the first 8 weeks home. One other issue was inconsistent scheduling of caregivers. One caregiver had been borrowed from another area when our area was short handed. She thankfully was only there at night when we did not need much help. She argued with me my first day home (the one time she was there during the day) and I was on heavy pain medication. One other time she argued with another caregiver about how to do something with my husband in front of us. I had to intervene to calm the correct caregiver. I reported her to our manager, thankfully she did not come back again.
As I said at the beginning we were satisfied overall and I would recommend Visiting Angels, just make certain to monitor the care being given and be very specific about what you need done.

My Aunt Margaret received care from Visiting Angels for four years. When Rene Cain, the franchise owner, came out to explain services my Aunt said she could not afford the truly needed services. Later, when Rene was explaining the situation to a friend he saw how saddened Rene was by this and offered to pay for the care. This does not mean my Aunt was an exemplary customer. She was difficult and demanding at times. Patiently and lovingly the caregivers did her laundry, housekeeping, trips to appointments, help with meals and more. Rene put together a 90th birthday party for Aunt Margaret. She said it was the best birthday she ever had. Rene visited with Margaret often, making sure her needs were met. It was the human contact and loving care that Visiting Angels provided that helped her thrive her last four years. I can't thank them enough for the care provided to my aunt.

I have employed the services of a Visiting Angel (VA) for four hours each week since Nov 2018 to care for my wife while I do shopping and other errands. I have been completely satisfied with the attention and care she has received from all VAs, but after a period of orientation, a retired LPN (Betty) has been her primary visitor. It is very reassuring to have a trained professional available to administer meds and bathe her and who would know what to do in case of an emergency.

My wife and I are both elderly and in uncertain health, which has sometimes necessitated changes to regularly scheduled visits by the VA. The local VA supervisor/scheduler (Renea) has been gracious and efficient in providing support to meet our changed needs. I am very appreciative of her efforts to provide assistance to us, sometimes on very short notice.
