The only thing with Vasona, is when you light the button, it will take them forever to respond. I am the wife of a patient there. I needed to work so I can’t be with my husband, so I left the caring for Vasona. My husband is due dialysis & he should be ready at 9AM for VTA access to pick him up. I called my husband at 9:45AM & he said he is still in his bed- no one came in when he pushed the button after his bfast was done. I called station 4, no one picked up & of course, I expected that no one
Pick up any phone call there. I am so frustrated & I hope mgmt can do about that.

I couldn't imagine a worse experience. Moved my Dad 3 times over a two week period during a construction project. Exremely loud noise. LVN nurses are 1 to a floor and overworked CNA's do all the work. No RN's in sight. Dropped him while helping him to the bathroom and now they won't pay the ambulance bill to get him to the ER. Over dosed him with Steroids. Resident Dr only saw my Dad 1 time during the month he was there. They lost his hearing aides and no won't reimburse him for them. Stay away!!!

Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. My mother stayed here two years ago before she passed. She was physically assaulted by a night nurse. We filled out a police report and they still assigned the nurse to her room a week later. When she was transported to Good Samaritan hospital, she had several bed sores that were documented by the staff there as well streptococcus. There were a few nice people who did work there and were good to my mom, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to outshine the rest of the negative experience we had. The people who were higher up acted very irritated anytime we had questions. They didn't hold a meeting with us to go over her care until we kept insisting and even then it was over the phone. The staff doctor ordered several blood tests and a chest X-ray that we never had the outcome of until we repeatedly asked. They didn't follow any sort of COVID protocol until they had an outbreak and people were coming to inspect. Then all of a sudden everyone was wearing masks, face shields, gloves, etc. It didn't last very long either. I wish I would have had her transferred when a room at another facility opened up. They kept making promises that it would improve and they always fell short. Overall, avoid this place!

My father caught Covid while he was staying at this facility and died at Good Samaritan Hospital in January. They sent him to Good Samaritan Hospital with fluid in his lungs. He died 5 days later after he was admitted to the hospital. I am finally going to give my review fo this facility

This was my dads third facility he stayed at. He chose the place because he said that the other places were trying to kill him. For those of you who have gone through this with your elderly parents, this is what you commonly hear? I loved the other places because they forced my father to eat right, exercise and take his medication. I read the reviews before my dad was sent here and the most recents ones where all bad. Patients complaining about poor treatment, no one answering the phones at the from desk, no communication with the doctors, Covid issues, etc. The first time and only time I was able to visit my dad I KNEW HE MADE A BIG MISTAKE IN CHOOSING THIS PLACE.

The staff was running around like a bunch of zombies. Every face looked angry and tired. The ratio of nurse to patient, I would never got an answer for that. The biggest thing that stood out was that we as guests were forced to wear mask. I had no problem with that, safety for your loved ones and other patients. There were staff members walking around with no masks. The little things is what really stood out. My dad said he only got one session of rehab per day. He said that he wanted more. I told his nurse, who was not wearing a mask, and she said she would pass it along to the rehad facility. Never heard back. My dads TV remote did not work for the first week he was there and he told the staff. I looked at it and it was missing a battery. I told the nurse and she said they needed to maintenance. I asked don't you just have a battery in your desk? I tried to get my dad to change facilities but he did not want to. I told my dad I did not have a good feeling about this place. My dad told me and my family that he got a new room mate because his last one died. I asked him to place change places and he said that he did not want to. I asked him to back to Plum Tree or the Los Gatos Terraces. He previously stayed at those facilities and was medically cleared from those facilities before he was discharged.

When my dad died, I came to pick up belongings. WOW, talk about taking out the trash. They had my dad belongings in a clear plastic trash bag WITH HIS NAME MISSPELLED. Initially they lost the bag for a few weeks, but somehow the found it. They had his name written on a cardboard box that we gave my dad his Christmas gift in. My dad was missing one shoe, all of his Christmas gifts that we gave him and some crossword puzzle books. At least I got back the last Christmas card I ever gave my dad.

I made a complaint with the CA Department of Public Health. I filed a complaint about his treatment, his property and their Covid policy. Boy what a waste of time that was. Even though they had some violations (Covid policy and property management) and the facility was cited for them, there are not actually fines at all. Apparently all these violations do is bring down their Star rating. That is it. I was shocked that is all the punishment they received. The investigator said that is regards to my dads medical treatment, they would require a more detailed investigation which is he not able to do. I still never got back my dads last Christmas gifts. Even though they were worth very little, I valued them because they made my dad laugh that day we gave them to him and that was the last time I ever saw him laugh.

So, if you send your loved one here, know that others have died here. My dad was valued as much as the trash bag and the used cardboard box his name was misspelled on.

I was concerns from reading reviews about Vasona, the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth by the welcoming nursing staff. Unlike other facilities, the facility had a pleasant smell. The activities team organized enjoyable activities for the patients, who appeared genuinely happy. Witnessing the residents' happiness assured me that choosing Vasona was the right decision. With a new, caring, and hardworking team, my experience this time around was far better than two years ago. I'm delighted I chose this facility for my loved one, and I plan to return with treats for the dedicated staff.

I am pleased to share my positive impressions. The introduction of new management has noticeably enhanced the overall atmosphere and efficiency of the facility. The rehab services provided were outstanding, and the staff demonstrated a high level of professionalism and dedication. The therapists were highly skilled, compassionate, and motivated, making the rehabilitation process both effective and encouraging.
The nursing staff exhibited a high level of competence and dedication to the well-being of the residents. They were attentive, responsive, and genuinely caring, creating a supportive environment. The facility itself was well-maintained and clean, contributing to a comfortable and safe atmosphere
Overall, I commend the skilled nursing facility for its commitment to continuous improvement, and I highly recommend it for those seeking quality care and rehabilitation services.

This place is aweful. It looks presentable from outside but the management trully does not care for the residents at all. They are there to collect money but at the same time neglect the residents. Being in Los Gatos and the amount of money being charged to insurance company, it is shameful they cannot provide air condition to the residents on hot days. My mom had a rash turn into an open wound. It was only found out by family member but the facility neglected the issue. This is considered elderly abuse. I cannot even give this facility one star at all. It is a shameful situation

Clean facility with more than enough staff to take care of the residents/patients. This place is well maintained and has no urine smell and seems to be getting a refresh on decor and paint. Everyone is friendly and diligently working. I just wish there was a patio with sun to sit outside like other places. Thankfully this is for a short rehab visit. Given the limited choices under Kaiser, this is a very good place. 4.5 stars for the facility and 5 stars for the care. I just wish the common areas were bigger.
