Every one of the volunteers there that I interacted with when I went last month were cheerful, empathetic and so kind. I need to empathize SO KIND! I’ve helped with food drives for them for years but never needed their services and I was just overwhelmed. I’m going to see if they will let me volunteer there starting as soon as I can.

This place created an absolutely disheartening point of view on food banks for me and my wife, We just moved to Raleigh and we’re currently homeless right now and staying with friends and we have all of our belongings in the back of her car. We just needed food because we can’t afford it right now and we were greeted by a man yelling at us about how he couldn’t put the food in our car even though there was room in the passenger seat on my lap and even though that was a horrible experience we were so excited to eat some food because we were so hungry and when we got back to the place we’re staying at we found that most of it was expired and gone bad the milk was even chunky.. I understand that this is a food bank and it’s charity but you shouldn’t be giving away food that can obviously make someone sick..

Wonderful people who are caring and compassionate as well as helpful and polite. Efficient way of driving through while they load items in the vehicle for you. And I am so grateful in these times when money doesn't go very far.

They have a great system for providing for the community. You can only once a month for yourself. You can go more than once if bring multiple people as long as they are part of a different family. They will ID and register you. In other words you can pick up for others.
