Last fall I relocated to Brevard to be in the mountains and part of an art community. I quickly became a member of the Transylvania Arts Council and entered 3 paintings in their recent show For the Birds. The Executive Director, Gallery Manager, volunteers, and artists have all been welcoming, encouraging, and eager to share information about the council and art opportunities in the community. The gallery space is beautiful and is open Tues. Sat. The For the Birds art reception was well attended, with 150 patrons and artists coming out to show support. I will continue to support this professional organization and am thankful for the opportunity to show my work.

A lovely building with amazing local art on display (and for sale). This is a must visit while in Brevard. The curators are a pleasure to speak with and very helpful.
Downstairs there’s a large learning space for adults and teens. Space for pottery making too.
Ample parking in the back.

Referred to this Council for information about the art community. Initial interaction with the council president was disturbing. Unprofessional, inappropriate comments made, moved about the room constantly, and no relevant information given.
Not a positive representation of the council or the art community.
