I am very generous on my reviews. I love to support local and try different things. So you may see lots of my reviews better than what I’m going to leave Salvation Army.
I worked hard to give them everything they requested during my work hours and after my work hours. I really needed help. ( have never asked for help since I’ve been here for 7 years). I needed help with rent, and due to odd reasoning that my previous employer check should have been enough for my past due rent, they couldn’t help me. ( they are wrong about past money helping me ) there is so much more bills due other than rent. I called several times for a week in a half , to get an update. They finally emailed me that I didn’t qualify. Thankfully I am not homeless due to other local help, but Salvation Army is really disappointing when someone truly needs help outside of church or food pantry. They say they do everything they can to help you and it’s not a guaranteed but I feel so gross about their commitment on helping others.
I know the three girls that work there aren’t the major corp bosses, but they should feel ashamed to be collecting a check from themselves when they see so many people they could be helping or fighting for to get help.

City of Yuma Residents, if you need Assistance in Rent, Food, or Utilities this is NOT the place for you! Please Read: The Salvation Army has been around for many years, to help the many different Communities. This one is no different. HOWEVER, the 2 non educated Employees who are to assist the Community lack Customer Service Skills. The Receptionist is Rude as soon as you Enter. Her demeanor is so unprofessional. A homeless man walked in & asked for a Sandwich. Rude Receptionist said "No your name is not on list!" WOW! The Intake Girl is very Rude, Sarcastic, Uneducated, & Seriously has issues. Before you can talk or give any information on your current situation, She says NO can't Assist you. I read the Reviews before coming here & they were Negative. I like to judge for myself. I now concur that the Reviews speak the truth on these 2 Rude employees! I don't have to mention their names. ( They know who they are) The Salvation Army should rid themselves of these 2 employees because they are making Salvation Army have Bad Reviews. The Hiring process should seriously be taken into Consideration. Especially when dealing with needs of the Community.

Called for rental assistance and lady was rude. Said we needed to show proof of emergency as to why we couldn't pay for example she said loss of hours. Ok well I said would pay stub work. She said no. Hello. It shows hours on there. How else would a better show of hours proof be then a pay stub. Typical yuma nonsense.

Excellent non profit church & community center. Pastor John is very personable & helps other non-profit organizations. Love the church services at this location, as well.

This is a very good and loving place.
I have been a Cristian my whole life
but have never heard God’s word
(the Bible) presented as clear and
easy to understand as Lt. Ambers
sermon yesterday 12/3/2023, explaining Advent and the birth of Jesus. I’m sure everyone left the service knowing how much God loves them and how Jesus died for our salvation!
Thank you Amber.

The lady that suppose to help with utilities was very unprofessional and rude, she sounded racist and unchristian like. My electricity is about to be turned off and she was agitated with me over the phone, wacog can't help me because they already helped me in February and my son just got a job but aps won't wait. I would rather go without electricity and freeze this winter that ask salvation army for help again, they will answer to God one day ?

I reached out to the Salvation Army for rental assistance during a difficult time. It was also in their transition into the new building. Lt Johnathan was a big help in making it happen. The food boxes have also helped during this difficult time. God Bless the Salvation Army for all the work they do for the Yuma Community.
