I went in looking for a jacket but they didn't have what I was looking. After looking for the Jacket I saw the DVDs and after browsing I saw an old TV series that had a price tag on it for $4. It would save me a few bucks if I had bought it NEW off amazon so I took it up front where you see the DVD price list @$.99 a movie. I figure it's listed at $4 because it's a series but NO i was told it would be $.99 per disk making the price almost $8 and that was not their price tag. Must be the Gucci Salvation Army.

Look what I got at the Salvation Army! Just got this computer desk, large beveled mirror with gold frame, two shirts, two pillows, two huge cookbooks and these dishes for a total of only $44!

I figure that the price if new would have been about $700 plus taxes! I'll be back . . . It's really fun! Retail stores can go jump in the lake. Or somewhere!

Love the people.. inventory is great... One thing is they charge over list prices on a lot of stuff.. most workers will come down to cheaper and some say that's the price..It is a thrift store for a reason... They need to set the prices so it reflects that...

I am not a HUGE fan of this Salvation Army location compared to the one off of 321 in Granite Falls and the one up in Hickory off of LR blvd. During my last visit, I found the employees less than helpful. Typically what I expect when I visit a Salvation Army store is good hearted vibes, not ā€œI want to rip you off and take all of your moneyā€ vibes. I’m referring to a picture I took to the counter which had 3 different prices on it… Of course, the woman behind the counter didn’t give me a second to talk and say ā€œHey, this picture is a little scratched up… Could it possibly be sold for the lower price point?ā€ She immediately gave me the highest price. I get it’s not a store to be trying to lowball people, but it’s a thrift store for crying out loud- you probably aren’t going to sell that picture for that price anyways, and the only reason why I picked it up is because I was going to ā€œrenewā€ it myself. It wasn’t worth the price in the condition it was in, so I told her never mind. Walking around the actual store, everything just seemed so old. Some of the antiques were pretty cool, but other things- were actually insanely old and should have just been thrown in the dumpster. Broken frames and furniture, clothing with pet hair etc. To top it all off, most of the prices are ridiculous. $30 for a USED lamp?! The only thing that helps the case is that they have a color of the week which designates certain items half off. Still, a used lamp for $15 isn’t worth it when I can buy a brand new one at Ross or somewhere for $9.99. It’s a hit or miss here I suppose, I will stop back by to see every now and then. I did find one thing worth the money and it was a small porcelain dish for 50 cents (half off/blue sticker.) That’s it though.

The prices of some stuff in the Conover store is ridiculous, you bout can go the store and buy that stuff new for them prices. And also they got last year date on stuff and still selling it for a high price when it use to be half off, it's been a couple months but I've bought stuff half price on older stuff.

I honestly just brought up four or five $600 worth of stuff and they told me they were full they could not accept any other donations which does not make zero sense to me if it's free and you're going to make a profit off it I mean come on so I took it to Goodwill even though we're not going to get on Goodwill because I don't like them either

The lady at the front was very friendly but I just have to take off stars for the fact they priced a jacket they got for free at $130. That left a terrible taste in my mouth. That same jacket is online for $100 and, once again, it was used and a donation to them. Don’t donate high end items here if you want them to actually go to people in need. You’re better off selling that item yourself and giving the money to someone in need.

When the Salvation Army Family Store in Conover moved to their new location I was excited. I truly enjoyed this store when it first opened and rarely left without several bags of treasures that I couldn't live without. However, recently, I'm not sure what has happened but more often than not I'll walk out frustrated and disappointed with nothing to show for my search. The prices seem much higher than they used to be, the items that are in the store are the same ones after repeat visits, and the staff that is currently working are some of the least friendly people I've met. All in all, this is not a store that I visit regularly anymore because I'm always unhappy when I leave. Maybe things will shift again and it will go back to the original store that I knew and loved
