The Pace has been the perfect place for us! The apartments have a really fresh, cozy, and modern feel. We chose The Pace for the location (quick access to Raleigh & Durham) and their five star amenities. The clubhouse is stacked with a full gym, dreamy pool deck with grills, lounging spaces, desks for working, and a sky lounge on the top floor where we’ve enjoyed many sunsets. What we didn’t expect when we chose The Pace was the outpouring of kindness from the property management team: Shea, Tara, and Izabelle. They have been so kind and great to work with every step of the way. Our sweet dog passed away around our move in time, and they blessed us with a custom portrait of our sweet fur baby. This place is really special. If you’re looking for apartments in the area, I would highly recommend touring The Pace.

10/10 experience here! location, amenities, neighbors, community were by far! the best experience I’ve ever had living at an apartment community!
the apartments are absolutely amazing! I had a 2 bedroom
Mikayla, Tara, Izzy, Taylor & Hannah! have the most beautiful souls! Genuine spirits and will accommodate any inconvenience you may have with urgency & empathy! Greystar has some of the best employees the multi-family industry has to offer! The maintenance team is adequate & efficient, the maintenance supervisor knows his stuff. I’m so thankful to have lived her. Recommendation - get a lake view!!
I will certainly miss this place and all the great times

I so enjoy everything about this place! The staff is always friendly and cheerful. The buildings and grounds are kept up, cleaned thoroughly and looking nice. If we need service in our apartment, we simply enter a work order and have a solid response the next day.

Good coffee in the machine, well equipped gym, super nice, well maintained pool and frequent activities. Overall- fun, nice place to call home.

From beginning to end, everyone at the Pace has been superb. Hannah originally assisted my fiance and I , and her personality was so bubbly ! Have you ever gone to take a tour and the leasing agent makes you feel like you shouldn't be there touring? Lol, well Hannah WAS NOT THAT. I can honestly say between Hannah and Matthew, with their top tier communication and swift resolutions, they truly made us want to live here more than the beautiful aesthetics of the property and amenities. Don't get me wrong, the amenities and aesthetics can't be beat, but those two Pace pals are irreplaceable. I won't go into too much detail, but Matthew was so patient with us and getting our approval. We plan on staying here until we move into a home. Taylor the leasing agent is so sweet, professional and very gorgeous if I can say so myself 😊. I'm excited to get to know her more now that she has joined the Pace team. If you're having second thoughts, don't ! Just sign that lease 😂 and come be happy.

I will be adding pictures and an updated review 6 months in. I'm very excited to get a little row boat and have lunch dates with my fiance on the lake behind the Pace. It's in a prime area, and the price is fair. The resident events look incredibly fun and I can't wait to attend one myself.

When we first moved into The Pace at Holding Village, we had high hopes. But for the most part, it just looks like a nice community with the same problems as cheaper apartments in the area. Everything over the 18 months we lived here added up to an unpleasant experience. It would be easy to find a comparable community to live in for a lower cost.

While the new staff is friendly, they are slow to act on anything you bring to them. Whether it's a maintenance, billing, or amenity issue, it will take weeks, if not months, to resolve.

When we first moved in, we had an issue with the electrical wiring in our walls. One of the bedrooms would lose power anytime the washer, dryer, or garbage disposal was on. I repeatedly explained the issue to The Pace, suggesting that the wires were likely crossed behind the wall, but they insisted, "No, that doesn't make sense; it's just the breaker..." It took 2 months and 4 new breakers before they finally sent an electrician to fix the issue. As someone who works remotely, waiting 2 months to fix an electrical problem in my "office" was unacceptable.

Ours, and almost every apartment in the community, deals with mold in the bathrooms due to water leaking into the baseboards and behind the walls. Our friend's apartment had mold so bad that it started growing on anything in the bathroom and closet—walls, shoes, clothes, etc.

When we finally moved out, getting our security deposit back was a hassle. We had to remind them that we had paid a refundable security deposit and did not opt-in for the non-refundable monthly charge. We were told it would be mailed to us within 1-2 weeks, but 5 weeks later, after multiple phone calls, nothing had arrived. After constant back-and-forth, we were finally sent information on how to receive our security deposit, which would be deposited directly into our bank account rather than sent as a check in the mail.

Overall, I've rated The Pace 3/5 stars. Even though it’s overpriced, the apartments are still nice. The modern appliances, large floor plans, well-kept grounds, and friendly community made for a pleasant living experience. However, the constant delays, slow response times, and frustrating back-and-forth were annoying to deal with.

This isn’t luxury; it’s an absolute joke. I lived here for 15 months, and I couldn't wait to leave when my lease was up. 🏃‍♀️
VERY, VERY NOISY
LUXURY 😂 👎 😂 👎
I sold my home and decided to try something new while I figured out where I wanted to move. I came across Pace, and it looked nice from the outside, with a pleasant clubhouse and pool. The community is dog-friendly, which I loved, but I was frustrated by the dog feces and litter around the property that no one seemed to clean up. BTW the dog park is a backyard for people’s dogs to 💩 not play. You can’t use the dog park because it’s always full of 💩.
Additionally, despite the lease stating that smoking is not allowed, I encountered many people smoking weed and cigarettes from their porches. Mikayla doesn’t care and neither does any of the management. The stairs and entrance are filthy and stayed that way the entire time I lived here. The neighbors below us were very messy and often had piles of garbage and a filthy entryway. It’s no surprise, considering six people live in a two-bedroom apartment with a dog.
I’ve submitted over 40 repair requests for a new apartment. None of those were my fault. The shower was leaking, mold in the washing machine, the toilet leaking, the water smelled bad, nails and plastic dropping down on my porch from above, and odor in the master bedroom probably from urine continuously coming down from above the porch, two different paint colors on doors and closets because painters never finished the job, water in kitchen sink never draining. The list goes on and on and on.
My neighbors above me let their dog urinate on their porch for over five months, and it dripped down onto mine. Maintenance noticed that fake grass was above, which caused urine onto my porch. Mikayla, the manager, and Kelli Lea, the regional manager, shrugged it off and took no action. I have photos and a neighbor also witnessed the dog urinating in that area and reported it to the office. The noise levels in these apartments are excessive. It’s no wonder the assistant manager and maintenance person who live here live on the third floor. They know the level of noise here. If you're seeking peace, this is not the place to be—The construction quality is very poor, and management stinks. If they don’t like what you have to say they just IGNORE you. However, I expect to receive a friendly response to this review, which feels insincere; it seems like they want to appear wonderful until you move into these apartments. Greystar management has a huge lawsuit against them and if you read reviews from other apartments they manage they aren’t good. I think 🤔 in the beginning with the new appliances people are impressed but my suggestion is to LOOK ELSEWHERE. They might be friendly in the beginning but management is awful, the regional manager is a joke. My lazy neighbors above me parked in a handicapped spot several times even though they weren’t disabled, and nothing happened to them even though they were reported to the office.
A neighbor did report them to the police.

The security officer living here isn’t helpful at all. She also gets a discount on her rent to tell you to call the police. She’s useless. No security on the property. Pace will tell you there is security but there isn’t.

Maintenance is the only 5 stars I can give to this property. They did take care of the repairs I had and Josh is super friendly and always a perfectionist.

Traffic is awful around the property and it’s ugly here. You’re either facing the road, parking lot, houses, or a water tower. You’re paying for trash but trust me at least 1 or 2 times a month it’s cancelled for a holiday, very little snow, or some other excuse. The water bill isn’t accurate so make a stink if you live here.

I'm glad to be living in a house again, and finally, after 15 months, I can get a good nights sleep.

The Pace Apartments are tucked away in a great location to live. The apartment itself is also very well built and we had zero issues with our apartment during our stay. Unfortunately, I’m unable to give it 5 stars because there was (and still is from what I hear) an issue with certain residents smoking marijuana inside or around the apartment complex. The apartment is advertised as a smoke-free community; however, this is sadly not the case. The manager (Mikayla) did not appear to take these violations seriously as the smoking persisted despite the complaints. In fact, it almost appeared she took sides with the responsible individuals or favored certain residents over others. Notwithstanding, the apartment itself is one of the nicest my family has ever come across. The community feels safe overall and is a wonderful place to walk with the kids.

My time at the pace has mixed feelings.

When I first moved in the staff was amazing. They were very much on top of everything and did a great job responding to all our requests. The staff was one of the top reasons we decided to sign our lease at the pace. About halfway through our lease all the original staff left and was completely replaced with new staff. The new staff was no where near as attentive as the previous staff and in fact you almost have to ask them multiple times if you need something. The community manager is almost never around and most of the time the assistant manager is the only one willing to help and is the most helpful out of all the staff.

Maintenance is super nice, but be prepared because you are going to have to put at least 3 maintenance requests for anything you want fixed. For example, one big issue with almost everyone we talked to that lived at the pace had a huge problem with showers leaking into the baseboard creating awful water damage and leading to mold. I have countless maintenance requests for this one issue and half the time maintenance would just paint over the mold and never truly fix the issue.

Another big issue we had were people also smoking weed right outside our balcony and the smell seeping into our apartment. After bringing the issue up to the office they told us there was nothing to do other than call police even though every resident has to sign a no smoking addendum.

Personally I would avoid Greystar managed apartments in general because this seems to be the pattern with this management company. There are many nicer apartments right in the vicinity, but personally I would avoid the pace and Greystar in general.
