As you approach the church you will be welcomed by people with giant welcome signs jumping up and down. It’s a shame you won’t be welcome once you’re inside if you use a guide dog. If you are blind and require a guide dog they will NOT let you in the sanctuary. You will be forced to stay in the lobby like a second class citizen. I was escorted out of the sanctuary like I had broken the law. It was incredibly embarrassing. I traveled 3 hours to be present for my niece’s baby dedication and they would not let me be in the sanctuary.

I politely asked the man who escorted me out ‘what would Jesus do’ and he snickered at me. So if you’re blind and require a guide dog for your mobility I recommend finding a different church. It’s probably for the best. If a church is more concerned about getting dog hair on the carpet or the incredible inconvenience of a guide dog sleeping at the feet of a blind person rather than allowing people to hear God’s word maybe they need to follow Jesus’s teaching a little more closely. Guide dogs are NOT “service dogs.” They are Guide Dogs for the Blind. @The Father’s House- it’s time to change your policy.

I love the The Father's House. There's a lot going on in our world, and it's vitally important to take care of yourself physically, mentally and spiritually. I can honestly say the only reason I made it through 2020 was Jesus. The Father's House has provided so many online resources such as sermons, worship services, devotionals and Bible readings to bring people like me closer to God amidst all the chaos of this generation. The Church IS essential. Helping people find joy, peace, love, acceptance, and all the other beautiful things that Jesus brings is so critical. Places like this are actively helping people with suicidal tendencies, anxiety, depression, financial struggle, domestic insecurity, and so much more find love, healing, support and help. Thank you Father's House for sharing the love of God with any and all people.
