I’m new to NC and I started going as a single person, excited to be part of a church family. After a few months of trying to connect it never happened. The pastor would come out to chat with people and I watched him week after week stop to talk with everyone around me, but never me. I’m sitting there alone and he never made an effort to make me feel welcome.
I was also excited to be part of operation Christmas child, having been a recipient of the kindness of Samaritan’s Purse after a natural disaster. I spoke to the welcome desk and left my phone number for someone to contact me about volunteering. A week went by and no one called, so I stopped at the welcome desk again, but this time asked for a person I could call. I got the number and called, got a voicemail and no one ever called back. I called a couple more times then gave up.
It seems the friendliness of this church is just surface. The greeters are friendly but don’t want to engage in conversation. The pastor wants to pray for you but not talk to you.
The best part about this church was the Divorce Care class they offered. Jim and Lori genuinely care and want to help. The class is very helpful and informative and I would recommend it to anyone.
I wish them well and hope someone at the church reads this and learns from it.

The church that used to be a grocery store! From a physical point of view, the building is in great shape and it's very comfortable. Nearly everything I can think of is handicapped-accessible and the worship center is spacious with far better sound than one may expect from an ex-grocery store! From the perspective of building and growing a relationship with God, this church is phenomenal! While here, you may hear the expression, "We do whatever it takes to help people find and follow Jesus" and that is delivered! From child-care offerings for two services on Sunday and again on Wednesday night, the army of volunteers that delivers that service is love-led and Christ-centered. Come and give us a chance!

Friendly folks, inspiring contemporary Christian music, excellent thought provoking bible, based sermons. Everything points to Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior. There are small groups meeting weekly at various locations and times to help make a big church shrink to a easier sized group of folks to really get to know and pray together. Very kid friendly facility for all ages.

I enjoyed my first visit and wven thiught that this could be home. There was a lady that sang on the stage and she literally shared her testimony of alcoholism from stage and then sang a song that would touch anyone's heart. We continued going for several weeks. I became ill and I asked the church if they helped people financially. I had an active eviction notice and an electricity disconnect. I filled out a benevolence form, was told someone would call me within 48 hours, and never heard from anyone. A month later I called again to.inquire about my request for help. Someone called me back about a week later. They sounded very non-challantly concerned. He said he would call me back to see how they could help. They never called back to even just say that they couldn't help. For someone so about the community, they sure left some members behind. I was facing eviction with 3 kids. 1 lives in a mental health facility. I was unemployed due to losing my job over my daughter's Dr appts. I almost lost a child to suicide more times than I can count this year. I just needed some help. And still do but I know who won't help. Sadly. I thought this was going to be church home. I was already signed up to volunteer in their special needs program. The rating isn't because they didn't help but how they went about it and made me feel so insignificant and small.

I only gave 2 stars because of the singing and testimony I heard that moved me.

Here was my experience over the last 5 months of attending Church at Clayton Crossing:

I started in June. Community groups were promoted during the service by the pastor and in a community group pamphlet dated June 2018. I arrived at the location and time listed to find out it and others were cancelled for the summer. I emailed all the groups to find out if any were meeting. Less than half responded to my emails. Almost all were cancelled.

I attended several different Sunday morning bible studies. Several were not where they were listed, the information desk didn’t have accurate information about where and when they were they were moved, and the classes typically started 15-20 minutes after the stated time because many members showed up that late. An entire class was cancelled for the week because the leader was out of town, but the only way to know it was cancelled was to be on the email list, so visitors, beware. Study was cancelled and replaced with social time in one class, so bible study isn’t always bible study. Most of the classes I attended didn’t have teachers, they used video instruction and the leader led a discussion of materials written by the same company doing the video instruction.

When pointing these things out the information desk and pastors, the response is, “growing pains.” Growing pains have nothing to do with communicating clearly, starting on time, studying the bible during bible study time, keeping the information desk and website up to date with changes, finding a substitute to lead discussion after video instruction, and having at least one community group available on site with rotating teachers if necessary during summer months.

What can I say other than I love this church, what they stand for, what they preach, how they practice their faith, the preacher, the congregation, the small group programs, everything!! If you want to worship God, with a group of folks that believe Christ Jesus was sent here to die for our sins and is coming back for us one day, and if you want to continue to study and learn from the Holy Bible without a perversion, then I reccomend that you try this church out!! Meanwhile keep believing that God IS NOT DEAD!!!

I have attended Church at Clayton Crossings since August 2010, and I find the people warm and friendly. The music is contemporary but worshipful. They have a great children and students ministry as well as small groups for adults.

I am new to the Clayton area and needed a Church...What a great Church...the elders pursued my family. Very loving, kinda like family. I am never afraid to bring others to hear the Gospel and my kids (4) always look forward to and bring their (un-churhed) friends regularly. Can't recommend it enough!
