I love that donations help local communities. Its much more than a thrift store. They have ready to work programs as well as food assistance for anyone in need. The workers are very friendly. Its always fun going in to see what they have new, because it changes daily.

I've been trying to get a straight answer since last year as to why my son received a Bag of Blessing all year during school last year but HIS TWIN SISTER WITH THE WALNUT ALLERGY DID NOT. I thought applications were approved based on income. It looks like this program denied my daughter simply because she has a walnut allergy. Is that a decent reason to deny this service to someone? You approved my son so apparently the submitted income information which applies to both children was sufficient. (I am the step-parent trying to support my children's father as he tries to understand how this is fair to our family.)

It's not that big, but it's pretty nice, and I like it because it's very close to me (which is great because most of the thrift stores are out in Huntsville).

The workers are pretty nice.

There isn't much of a selection of clothes. Not much of a selection of anything, really, since it's small, but it's still fun to look around.

Clothes: minimal selection. Shoes: pretty good (good selection of baby shoes). Electronics: minimal. Furniture: none, last time I looked. There used to be some, I don't know what happened to it. Books: good selection. Trinkets: good selection. Crafts: minimal. Toys: good selection (their stuffed animals are free, last time I looked). Hardware: good selection (lot's of brass and lighting). Bedding: pretty good, but a lot of old fashioned styles.

They have a little "boutique" area for the nice clothes and "name brand" things. But don't buy expensive name brand...my mom donated a fake Coach purse she bought in NYC for $45, and the thrift store is selling it for $50.
