Memorable service during Shiva for my father Leslie Laib Lowen during his shiva in 1988. Rabbi read Bereshit & expounded on concepts of Genesis IntheBeginning & relationship to Big Bang Theory. The Rabbi had professional experience as a chemist. My father was a scientist who held a PhD in chemical engineering. The sermon the parsha, the entire service was bashert. I am forever grateful to Rabbi & Shul.

I worked with Rabbi Emily Hyatt last weekend for a big wedding, and she was amazing. Very professional, friendly, and smiling. Everyone loved her ceremony! The bride's family gave me several very positive comments about all she did for the couple on the wedding day. Great job!

I've only been able to attend online but hope to get there in person someday soon. The clergy team is fantastic and helped me during the pandemic lockdown. I owe my sanity to all 4 of them.

It was my first time at Temple Emanuel. I attended a St. Martin's Chamber Choir concert that was a Jewish program. The inside of Temple Emanuel is beautiful. I really enjoyed the music too. You could hear both the choir and the instruments perfectly. I wouldn't mind coming here again for other concerts.

Temple Emanuel is my spiritual home! This beautiful Kehila Kedosha, holy community, is led by phenomenally talented and devoted clergy. Services are always inspiring. Torah Study is valuable and insightfully applied to our daily lives. They have adapted to the ever-changing times because of the pandemic with greater creativity and access to services through a strong online platform with abundant offerings. The entire team is responsive and cares about its members and serving the congregation and community. I have been drawn here since my first visit in 2010 and am so pleased to convert and join this beautiful community which contributes so much to my spiritual growth. It has never been easier to “visit” and attend services available online. Highly recommend this beautiful congregation and its remarkably talented clergy, the most amazing spiritual teachers! Everyone is welcome here, valued here, respected here. Blessings to you on your journey, PAGL!

I LOVE Temple Emanuel. Not sure what John Wilson experienced or rated it on. Maybe he was having a bad day or met with some negativity. I find the clergy, staff, and congregants very welcoming. It is an amazing upbeat synagogue with tons of resources and events for a variety of people. My daughter just moved to Washington DC for college. She was extremely active in the school and the youth group at Temple Emanuel. The programs instilled upon her the importance of being connected to the Jewish community. So much so that when looking for a college it needed to have an active and large Jewish population. I couldn't have asked for more!

As a former member of Temple Emanuel I am very disappointed on how temple is now. I grew up there and it was one of my favorite places to be. I felt welcomed and loved there. I was in junior choir and did all of the youth groups. I was on FCTYG board for three years and had my bat mitzvah and went through confirmation. When Rabbi Black became head rabbi it all changed. I didn’t feel welcomed anymore. And when I was there and felt welcomed it was because he was on yet another one of his trips. Like I said before My family had been going there for years. My sister wanted to do one of her girls namings done there when she approached Rabbi Black he turned her down because she hadn’t paid membership. But all of a sudden when he found out who our dad was it was a whole different story. This is just one of many reasons I will never attend there again.
