This review is specifically about Taproot Plus, the online platform run by Taproot Foundation. I've used the Taproot Plus platform for finding tech volunteer opportunities several times over the last few years, and have found it to be one of the most effective ways to find new fixed-duration projects and connect with nonprofit orgs. For web development projects, at least, there is a good pool of different projects that are regularly updated, and the 4-6 week suggested scope of most projects means things usually move along fairly quickly. Though the platform largely relies on volunteers to manage their own projects once the initial match is made, the Taproot staff has been responsive, working to resolve the rare issues that have arisen.
