Lorie was my birth doula and I’m so glad I had her by my side!!! She has magic hands for neck and head massage, she worked with me on my anxiety prior to birth, was with me via phone and then in person throughout the entire time in the hospital (I was induced) until birth, took some wonderful photos of my birth for us, and checked on me a week postpartum with food and the best homemade butt cream! She’s very knowledgeable, warm and supportive! Bonus: she gives great birth prep classes too! Thank you Lorie!!!! ?

This organization is incredible! I’ve been to a couple FREE prenatal classes and they have been so helpful and informative. I’m signed up to attend some more as well. Everyone here is super friendly and knowledgeable. They have some amazing programs for pregnant families and families with children. We hired our birth doula, Suzanne, from here a few weeks ago and are so excited to be working with her! They have Doulas based on a sliding scale which is so helpful for people with a tight budget. Everyone deserves to have a doula ? Thank you Lori and everyone here for all that you do!!!

Lindsey Gemme-
Lindsey went above and beyond what I was expecting from a birth photographer. Her experience as a doula meant when she wasn’t taking photos, she was pitching in to lend a hand elsewhere. For example, helping my wife with breathing techniques and pain management. The quality of her photography is top notch, and she took many beautiful pictures of the birth.

Camille Gonzalez-
I was not initially aware that Camille would be attending the birth, so I was surprised when I came into the kitchen and she was preparing a smoothie for my wife. But it was a very welcome and pleasant surprise. Aside from preparing teas and smoothies she was amazing with making sure our firstborn was taken care of while my focus was on the birth. Camille has a very calming and reassuring disposition that brought a sense of ease and warmth to our birth experience.

Lindsey: We hired Lindsey to take maternity, birth, and newborn photos. She made sure to set up a meeting to go over what I envisioned, any specific poses/photos I wanted, her specific style, as well as any expectations to ensure she would be a good fit for our needs and be on the same page. She gave feedback on potential outfit choices on what she thought would photograph well. For the maternity shoot, she made sure to get to the location early so we could scout out a spot that was just perfect for capturing the beautiful sunset lighting. She made me feel absolutely stunning. She also worked well with my partner and daughter. Lindsey was able to capture some precious moments with my daughter, despite her having zero interest in taking photos. Pregnancy is one of the times in my life where I feel most beautiful and Lindsey captured it perfectly. During my labor and birth, Lindsey really went above and beyond. She has many years of experience as a doula, in addition to her photography experience, and even though we only hired her to be our photographer, she did not let that stop her from stepping into other roles as needed. She was fantastic with pain management support, her calming touch and gentle reminders to relax into the contractions were extremely helpful to me. Lindsey took such amazing photos throughout my entire labor and birth that really helps to tell the story of the home birth of my daughter. She included such precious moments with my partner, daughter, and my birth team. It is something I will cherish forever and am extremely grateful for. We also got to have a lovely newborn session with her in our home. She was very patient and worked with us to capture all the photos we wanted. Everything turned out so wonderfully, so if you are looking for an amazing photographer, I would highly recommend Lindsey.

Camille: As a doula myself, I had the pleasure of meeting Camille when we completed a doula mentorship program together. She has such a warm and down to earth personality and her laugh is infectious. I know I’ll always have a good time when I am around her. So, when she mentioned she was looking to shadow a birth, because she is primarily in the postpartum doula space and thinking of also jumping into birth work, I didn’t even hesitate before blurting out to invite her to come to my birth. I am very much a type a, high maintenance, control freak and Camille is the total opposite of that, so I knew she would only bring good vibes to my birth, and she absolutely did. Not only is she a fantastic postpartum doula, offering postpartum meal prep and meal prep for starting solids with babies, she also has great experience as a nanny. So, when she arrived to my birth, she jumped right in to help prepare a laboraide recipe to help me stay hydrated during labor. She also made me a smoothie to help nourish me during labor, especially when I had such a hard time eating due to having had horrible heartburn during my first labor and having a fear of throwing everything up this time around. She also was absolutely amazing when it came to caring for my daughter who was present for my home birth. Camille played with my daughter, kept her entertained, helped to meet her eating/drinking needs, and brought her to see me whenever she wanted. Her support was absolutely invaluable and allowed me to focus on laboring but still get precious moments with my daughter during labor while not having to worry about if she was being cared for. I knew she was in Camille’s amazing and loving hands, which was a huge relief. Although Camille is not currently a birth doula or even a sibling doula, if she ever does, I would highly recommend her support. As for now, you can’t go wrong with hiring her as a postpartum doula. You will not regret it!

We hired Lorie as a doula and she is the real deal! When working with her leading up to our labor, she was incredibly reliable, easy to coordinate with, generous with her time and constantly sharing tips to help us prepare. During labor she was steady and patient as we navigated a very difficult birth. She has many years of experience and yet seems to be continually learning new skills & knowledge, which is very cool! Lorie also provided us with placenta encapsulation and her work was super professional. Last but not least, we felt genuine care while working with Lorie - she was invested in supporting us from the get go all the way through our postpardum time.

My partner and I took some free classes with Lorie via the Child & Family Resources Center in Tucson. Lorie's classes supported by another lovely doula, Cassandra, have been so valuable to us! We learnt so much and feel much more prepared!

Lorie is a lovely, down to earth character who is honest and funny. And we have been provided with super knowledge and tools for the birth of our baby, how to advocate for ourselves, breastfeeding resources, exercises to use even before birth (basically eliminated my partner's round ligament pain). And we can look up everything taught in class in a handy digital spreadsheet that she continually updated.

Highly recommend!
