I thought the office staff is quite friendly, professional and eager to help. They get a five -star. I give it a mediocre rating because my appointment with the VSO wasn’t really helpful. Nothing unprofessional but reading over the denial letter may be helpful to others but not really for me. Just saying the VA didn’t pay any attention and found no value in the evidence that I submitted really didn’t do anything. It would be more helpful to give ideas on how to counter the VA’s assessment of it and some ideas on things to submit. From my experience I learned so much more by looking on YouTube and groups of people who are going through/went through the process. I can see this being a good place to go for some things but, from my experience, if you’re going for guidance on disability have tempered expectations. I would recommend using the VSO service if you just want to gain access to what is in your file that is not viewable to the applicant. That did benefit me and was a positive of the meeting.

UPDATE: I’m knocking it another star. I asked the VSO if my application had me out in something as a primary or secondary. I explicitly asked if he was looking at the application and he said, ā€œYes.ā€ He said it was primary and not submitted as a secondary. I called the VA 800 number and I was read the verbiage that stated I had requested it as a secondary. Waiting on the FOIA to see exactly how it looks but the VSO never stated anything more than it just was put in as a primary. Just seemed like he wanted to get off the call as soon as possible.

Still Serving Veterans and Stephen Hartley are amazing! Stephen was knowledgeable, helpful, and professional! He went over in detail how to customize my resume to a job description, using AI, and all the ways it is helpful. Thank you SSV!

I had the good fortune of ending up in the parking lot of this business after my vehicle broke down. One of the gentlemen that works here just so happened to see me, and ask if I needed any help. After assessing the situation, he returned with another co-worker that he thought was more qualified to assist. When we could not get the vehicle running again, they helped me find a tow truck that could get me home. Then they stayed with me, and we chatted while we waited. I could tell that these are guys who love their job, and are very passionate about what they do. They are the kind of people who will go above and beyond to help you in any way, may it be a personal matter, or a professional one. I am so grateful I ended up in their parking lot. If they are this kind and generous to a complete stranger, I can only imagine the work that they do for their clients is amazing. These are people who want to be where they are, doing the work that they do. And they provide such an important service. I had no idea this business was in the area, but I'm so happy that it is. If you are a veteran in need of assistance, help with the VA, career or transition counseling, definitely see the people at Still Serving Veterans. They are the absolute best.

I went to ssv for career assistance and to work on my va disability . They were around helpful. I wish I would've came to them sooner. Julia chambers help me with making a remarkable resume and also taught me a few things on how to better my future resumes when applying for a job. She has check in with me multiple time to see how my job hunting is going. I am truly thankful for their service to veterans.

I heard this was a very good place so I decided to give it a try, and at first I was pleased with the meeting, it felt very promising until now. I was told I would receive a package from the VA in the mail, so after a few months I never received anything. I decided to call and just ask were I was at as far as the process goes which I know it takes time, but nobody would answer my emails and nobody would ever call me back when all I wanted to know is were I was at as far as the process goes. Every time I called all they would say is someone will call you back, but here I am again getting the run around like that don’t have time to look into my files. Almost 4 months in and I’m not even sure if my paperwork had even been sent at this point. I would not recommend this place at all. I don’t know if I’m supposed to receive anything in the mail now, I don’t even know what the next step is. Nobody can return calls and keep in touch with the process.

We have been dealing w VA and SSV since 2019 to obtain help for my father. In 2019 the employee at the VA denied us stating my dad had too much money. This was not the case the employee was incorrectly including my parents residence. We started over again in 2020 and we have constantly been denied by the VA due to packages being incorrectly submitted by SSV. We are constantly asked for the same information over and over again. I received, as a beneficiary, insurance money when my mom passed. I put this into a joint account w my dad. We were denied because of that even though we provided the letter stating it is not my dads money. Additionally my moms retirement was continuously counted as part of my dads income after she had died. My dad will die before anything is resolved. Save yourself some frustration and hire an attorney!
