If I could give zero stars I would. I had an appointment today at 10:30 and the woman Maria was very rude and lacked professionalism. My initial contact with her was over the phone. She asked me in at least 6 different ways if I got cash aid or child support. I told her no 6 different ways. I asked her what I needed to bring to my appointment so that I was prepared. She was so rude on the phone that I set my appointment a month out in hopes that she'd have a better attitude. But upon my arrival she looked me up and down and avoided eye contact and her handshake was weak. (Profiling) Although she screened me over the phone; she still asked me 6 different ways if I recieved child support. Again I told her no. My only source of income is my job as an Audiology Assistant since 2013. I tried to hand her my documents and she said she still needed proof that I don't get child support which was frustrating since I specifically asked what was required prior to my appointment. She was comparing me to previous candidates that may have been dishonest with her. I asked her how long she had been there at STAND and she aggressively answered 5 years, why is there a problem?
I said no just curious because of her attitude. She proceeded to say she was doing the consult free and not getting comission. Which to me was irrelevant because I help people for a living and I am nice, helpful and welcoming, whether they are paying out of pocket or got their hearing aids through The Hear Now Foundation for free, because I love to help people whether I get a bonus or if I am helping for free. Maria needs to brush up on her people skills. And needs an attitude adjustment. Especially while working to "help the community" become homeowners.
