can you word it for a review

Review:

I recently visited this thrift store and found it to be a typical second-hand shop experience. The store was filled with a variety of items, including home decor, a large selection of books, textiles, small furniture pieces, and standard kitchen utensils and equipment.

The clothing section was well-stocked, with approximately 60% women's clothing, 20% men's clothing, and 20% children's clothing and shoes. While the store had some interesting finds, it was mostly standard fare.

Overall, it's a good place to explore for unique items at affordable prices, but don't expect anything out of the ordinary.

Waaaay over priced, especially as of recently. I can tell the price mark up.. $7 for a broken piece of decor? Price items accordingly considering they were DONATED.

Edit: Music is still absolutely terrible.
Definitely not fair to the staff.

Definitely best thrift stores around & do much for the community. Always friendly staff.
The only negative thing I'd say, is the furniture prices are high compared to Goodwill. Also the music they choose is absolutely unhip & awful. If you're going to choose a local radio station at least choose a decent one like Wfuv! Mix FM is well known to be about the most sorry Cumulus Radio station on the FM dial.

They have a lot of problems with crime at this store. Several years ago, one of my friends had all their belongings stolen out of my car. One of the last times I was here, one of the oldtime managers nearly pushed me off the sidewalk as I tried to pass by outside the store, gave me a mean stare, and didn't say anything, excuse me, or hello, nothing. Meanwhile there was a girl at the far side of the building sitting on the sidewalk possibly nodding out from drug use. I would say if you visit this store, you may want to bring a buddy with you to help secure your own safety.

I like this St.Vinnies because they always have a good selection of random stuff. Never had any issues with any employees there & everyones usually quick to help with locked cabinet access and what not. I would say the single file line donation drop off can be a little ridiculous.
Depending on what employee you get, if you even remotely think about walking up with a bag of ready to go stuff and the person 1st in line is taking 10 years to get one box out the back of their car, the employee will genuinely yell at you and tell you to wait your turn. I get being courteous but it's silly I can't just walk up and sit something on the ground by the door if I don't want a receipt or coupon and the guy in front of me is unloading a yacht

The prices here are so outrageous, that you’re frankly better off buying something new in a lot of cases(largely regarding furniture) but in general other thrift stores have way better deals across the board. The prices are upsetting when most go thrifting looking for a deal and to be more sustainable. Every time I have gone and think “maybe the prices will be better this time” they are still outrageous and I leave angry. There’s no excuse in my eyes for a thrift store to be charging $350 for a dresser that is scratched up and has a chunk missing out of a corner and was donated for free.. I mean that’s just embarrassing. I’ve seen them mention to previous reviews that not everything is donated, but no one is going to a thrift store to look for furniture wanting to pay anywhere above $100 let’s be real now, come on.. It’s ridiculous. Some of the prices are outrageous even IF the item was brand new.. If you have several hundred dollars to spend on something you could get a way better deal on else where, enjoy your shopping experience here!

I love this store, and I’m so glad it’s open again, masks or not. The book department is fantastic. You can find any book about virtually anything at incredibly bargain prices.( For example, I have a collection of almost all John Grisham‘s novels from this store, , none of which I paid more than two dollars for, even though they were in pristine condition. There is also a great collection of what would normally be high priced books that are printed perfectly and bound in leather. Or, at least, they are in super-good shape. Here’s another example: I have the complete novels and stories of Jane Austen in a series of four books that I paid two dollars for.

I don’t know what people are talking about in saying at the furniture is too expensive, or that the neighborhood is “sketchy.” The store is tight across the street from Fred Meyer. I wouldn’t call that “sketchy.”

As for the staff, I’ve always found them very friendly and helpful. Yes, some of them may have disabilities of a sort, since St. Vincent de Paul will hire them. How about a bit of patience with them? Overall, I give the store five out of five stars.
