St. Cats & Dogs does do wonderful things for animals and that’s much appreciated, by the community, but the people who work there & answer the phones are actually REALLY rude. I called about three years ago looking to adopt a cat, I don’t think I’ve ever been spoken to so badly before. When I mentioned I was interested in a cat they had up for adoption, ‘so what’s your question?’ was her response to me, when I asked why she was being rude? it’s because ‘she didn’t know what my question was’. Then this past week my boyfriend called looking for some sort of help or resource for a stray cat who was left behind after an eviction, her response was that, that’s not really why she started her business. I don’t see the need for such disrespect when we’re all supposed to be on the same team looking out for these animals. I would love a response back. Thank you.

I've given this organization all 5 stars, simply because of the good work they are dedicated to doing! Every community needs stray-care!
It's also just volunteer-based, so it's difficult to expect "high-touch" customer service. That said, I do wish there was a more "open" feel. We went at 11am on a Weds, and the main door was essentially closed, and no one was staffing the front desk, though there were cats in crates and one dog. It seemed a bit desolate.
I'd love to see this place have "adoption events" and community fund-raisers.
I am grateful for the work they do!

I understand how hard it is to run on volunteers alone.

Took my cat there to get “fixed” and they had like 100 cats to do that day maybe more. The had me fill out a paper for all the extras I wanted and paid for but never got. I wanted the rabies shots etc which they say they did but gave me no papers so my own vet had to redo it and paid again!!! So after seeing all these cats probably on some kind of assembly line getting fixed etc and in a hurry most likely. Whatever they did my cat was very sick for 3 years. I took her to the drs numerous times and blood work etc and they could not figure out what was wrong. She was the best cat I ever had . She vomited 1-2 times a day for 3 years until she finally could no longer eat anymore and was so sick. I had to have her euthanized because my vet said she was suffering. I know this place is cheaper to get animals “fixed” but in the long run it’s not worth it . Please take your animals elsewhere. They do more harm here than good!!! Trust me !!!

I've stopped by twice to ask about volunteering and both times I could barely get the person at the desk to speak to me about it. Its wonderful what they do for the cats, but I won't be back again.

Absolutely no help whatsoever wish I could give 0 stars. Seems they don’t actually care about the well being of the animals they claim to care about. All you get is a lecture about how you are an awful person and not doing enough. But yet when you try to something you just get them say thing that they are “full”.

I even offered to pay for everything and supply them with what is needed and they still said no. But yet they seemed interested in other ones they could probably pawn off but yet not the ones that need help.

The person who I spoke to had an awful attitude about them and seemed like they knew everything about me (saying how in the wrong I was) and was overall such an unpleasant experience.

Will make sure to others not to even bother with your “business” because they will just lecture you about how “sad” the situation is and how you “could’ve done so much more” but yet not be any actual help.

My friend recently reached out to them for help with his surviving cat that was adopted there as a kitten. She is showing signs of possibly something neurological being wrong. On Saturday, she suddenly got vicious and aggressive, continually attacking him. It was terrifying and completely out of character. My friend couldn’t handle it on his own. He contacted Joanne (President/ Treasurer/ board member) and Sheri (board member) for help.

They came and captured her for him so they could monitor her until the vet opened Monday morning. We went to pick her up Monday at 7:30 am, but Sheri refused to release his cat back. She insisted on keeping the cat in their care and was uncooperative. Furthermore, they are refusing to give us updates on her condition.

Sheri was incredibly rude, insensitive, and disrespectful to him because we mentioned he might have to euthanize her depending on what we found out at the vet. We were both expecting a bad outcome due to the severity of her behavior on Saturday. She said my friend was giving up on her. Joanne gave him a business card for Buffalo and Beyond on Saturday, implying it was a reasonable expectation that she was on board with. We were trying to take things one step at a time knowing we couldn’t plan anything until she was examined by the vet.

Sheri came out with her guns loaded demanding a plan, berating my friend who was going through one of the most awful experiences of his life. It was totally uncalled for. Everyone who knows him knows he is an incredible cat dad and he is always willing to do the right thing. He didn’t deserve to be treated like that. We were both completely floored.

Sheri’s refusal to release the cat and her aggressive attitude, especially during such a difficult situation, demonstrated a severe lack of empathy and professionalism on her part. This incident was deeply distressing and reflected poorly on the organization as a whole.

Great place. Adopted 5 cats through them, all are wonderful. Volunteers are awesome, the cats are Unfortunatelyawesome, and the building is great.

They can't always take in cats because they do have a capacity they can't exceed. They also don't so the spay/neuter themselves. These seem to be the most common reason for negative reviews, but if people thought about it for a moment they'd realize this.

One of the worst customer service experiences I ever had. I called this location to get rabies information for shots my dog received here Whoever runs this location that’s a man decided to give me an attitude at 11:01am. when I asked for the information. They hung up on me and refused to give me the email address when I politely asked him for that information for my dog. Now they’re refusing to pick up.

Visited here during an Adopt A Cat day. We didn't adopt, but the place was clean and the cats seemed as happy as caged cats could be expected to be.
