Today 1/19/2022 @ 10am seacap came down to douglas this morning I was in my car an hr before they came out. They gave me an application I filled it out in the car walked in to return it, I was given a beeper waited patiently. When it was my turn the lady who helped me was rude she looked at a letter for child support and because she said it looked like a 7 and not a 1 on the month and a 2 instead of a 1 I did explain that my ex husband writes like that. She then said I would have to go back and have him send me another one. I came home waited to print the new one when I printed the paper went back waited in the car with the beeper for a while when finally got called in the girl asked for my citizen certificate it was 1:05 when I asked if I could go out to the car that was literally parked right across the door she said no that I would have to wait for the 2nd of Feb or go to Sierra vista that there propping finished and they were freezing I don't know how they come to help when all they do is push us away and not even try to help not even ignologing that it is freezing and we have kids in school but we don't complain on how frozen we are we waited patiently outside literally all day I felt like these lady's didn't even want to even help on top of that having an attitude very unprofessional very disappointed I didn't write names of the 2 lady's that helped me but I know it won't be so hard to look at my application I'm sure there names are there

Almost 80 years old, living with cancer, and trying to make it through a cold winter in my 120-year-old prefab home in Bisbee with no heat, I went to SEACAP for weatherization help. I had a marked date on my calendar for their intake day, thinking they processed applications until 2 pm, so I arrived around 1 pm. But turns out they stop intake right at 1 pm. There was no line, no other customers there, and several employees working – but they turned me away on the dot and told me to come back in a month. I explained that I had all my required paperwork ready, neatly packed in a large envelope, but they weren’t willing to be flexible. The only other option they offered was an 80-mile round trip to Sierra Vista in a couple of weeks.

I tried calling their office twice to confirm hours and location, left one message on their website, and even sent an email – no response whatsoever. It seems they don't call anyone back, which is concerning for a community organization meant to help people, especially those in small, rural areas with limited resources.

What’s more concerning is the feeling that this agency isn’t serving all community members equally. As a white, elderly woman with serious health issues, I didn’t feel that my needs were a priority. This organization should be working to serve everyone in the community fairly.
