My dog passed yesterday from aggressive cancer/kidney failure, adopted from here exactly 446 weeks ago, or about 8.5 years. I’m hurting so much but thank you for providing me a companion that loved me deeper than I thought possible. Loved our family deeper than I thought possible. The staff at the time (of adoption) was polite and caring, even though he scared everyone due to his size (100+lb of Dane/mastiff). He was beautiful, sweet, gentle, and such a tough boy when it came to health problems later down the road. Always complimented on his manners, size and how handsome he was. Even after experiencing neglect/hardships prior to us, and we had no idea how old he was when he came into our lives on a Valentines day. I don’t know what I would’ve done without him. Thank you for the best 8 years of my life so far, and thank you for saving him from his previous life. I miss my best friend. Adopt a dog.

I adopted a 5 year old domestic shorthair female from SVAS a few weeks ago.

Their service was phenomenal. They worked with us and provided options for anything we needed. In my experience, SVAS goes above and beyond most shelters and adoption agencies I’ve been to.

We live 2 hours out of town and were still given plenty of options for fees/questions remotely so we didn’t always have to make the trip.

They want to make sure that the pet you choose, is the right pet for you. They will even check-in during the fostering process to make sure you are all set!

I know, without a doubt, that SVAS is the place I would go to when I want to make another addition.

Thanks to the great team and the awesome work you guys do!

My fiancé and I have adopted our two lovable dogs from them. The staff was amazing to work with and answered any questions we had. They are a good local shelter to have here in Minot

In Nov. 11. 2014 our little Flufferton came into our lives. He's our beloved family member. He continues to fill our lives with constant love. Thank you for your kindness and allowing him to be part of our lives!

Adopted a dog from them but ended up having to give him back a few months later sadly due to aggression that I couldnt seem to train out of him. Loved him and miss him so much. Was so hard to do to give my Bear up.

May be the worst shelter I have ever tried to work with! I would leave no stars if possible, tried for a dog there and got a call that she was going to call back never did. No email, nothing! Did not feel like they truly wanted animals to go but to make profit on them NASTY!!! They didn’t seem friendly to work with, and the play room they have to met the dogs was disgusting full of pee and poop. My fiancé and I went to Central Dakota Humane society it’s a little drive but we felt welcomed right through the door! All dogs there are spayed/neutered and they truly want their dogs to go to a loving home! I will be adopting from them over anything, so if you are looking for an amazing place to work with who wants dogs to have an amazing life CDHS is amazing! DO NOT ADOPT WITH SVAS!!!
