Good place to go to get help with food. The food wasn't nasty and rotted like 99% of all the other places. I'm not sure why food pantries insist on giving rotten food. I sometimes wonder if the USDA knows this! But thank goodness this place was excellent in service and quality. I'm not picky by all means. I just don't think anyone uses rotten veggies

A friend asked me if I wouldn't mind posting this for him. So I said sure....
Here it is:

Due to recent storm damage and a lengthy unforeseen power outage situation. I lost most of my food. I was embarrassed and somewhat resistant to seek any assistance because I've always managed to take care of myself. My friend brought me with her to SLO Food Bank. I didn't have to explain or justify my situation to anybody nor did I feel belittled or patronized while I was there. I was given some staples of food and additional helpful information. SLO Food Bank was such a blessing! Everybody there wore welcoming smiles and were terrific, helpful human beings.
★ I am forever humbled and grateful because of your caring hearts and genuine desire to help lift up so many in your/our community experiencing all kinds of low moments in their lives. This is a rare but very real example in which no words I have could effectively represent what my heart is feeling...
Yet before I sign off here. It is imperative that I at least extend a simple and heartfelt "THANK YOU" to everyone at SLO Food Bank!

Dear Food Bank...for years I have heard of you and even contributed at times. The Salvation Army of slo, ca. Has played a termendence food provider for our family here in slo.
Because of COVID-19, my job w/reduced hours & still waiting for temp. Unemployment to arrive,
Is taking some time to process, I know U.I. dept .of Calif. Is overwhelmed w/the no#'s.
Everyone has to be patient & stick together,use your gloves, mask, ect.& distancing ** Its not over till it's
OVER..
Just want to thank The Salvation Army & staff for all there professional support for all us in need for there services...of slo, ca.l..YOUR THE ANGELS OF SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA

Money well spent. The county does a good job of ending food insecurity. Some things need work, more of those little pantry in shell beach or pismo would be cool.
