I was so grateful to find Sister Jose's Women's Center when I was going through a tough time. The staff was incredibly kind and supportive, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained.
I was able to get three meals a day, take showers, and do laundry. The clothing closet was also a lifesaver. I was able to get some much-needed clothes and toiletries.
The center also offers a variety of services to help women get back on their feet, such as job training, housing assistance, and mental health counseling.
I was able to take advantage of these services and they were very helpful.
I would highly recommend Sister Jose's Women's Center to any woman in need.
They are a true lifesaver.

I regret ever trusting SisterJoses shelter or the director with my emails of job interviews. I regret ever trusting them with my Life or my future.
As do a lot of women who have no other place to turn to but I myself am glad I experienced their cruelty firsthand so I CAN SPEAK UP for those whos Voices are silenced with poverty or trauma etc.
I stayed a week in this shelter, who I reached out to due to job offers I wanted stability but due to over controlling abusive Directors and staff We as Women in the shelter all adults are controlled to such an extent that I wonder how this program can possibly make someone or anyone Independent as Adult Women and mothers
I basically accidently went outside in the smoking area and smoked a cigarette supposedly when I wasn't allowed to and they forced me to exit the exact day of my Job interview which email confirmation I had shown the director. also I was told to trust the director to order my Birth certificate, a protected identity document on her computer which she said I wasn't allowed to Collect or pick up for a month after forcing me back into homelessness. I understand rules and all but the cruelty and lies and the fact it ruined my ability to work for this company Hurts especially when the day prior I was told by Sister Joses staff ane managers they were going to Pay me to do my culinary in their kitchen 75 dollars daily(6 yearw trained Sioux and pastry baker chef cross trained )the day prior to cOldly telling me I need to exit or they would call the Police(no illegal activity or drug use history, no anger on my part just tears)They have a God Complex and act so RighEous when they ruin lives they might help a few but soooo many women are tossed aside

Great hospitality. All my clothes were stolen and forwarded mail never received. Food was good. Keeps many women off the street for a short period of time and has some resources available

I have mixed feelings here. Myself and my daughter were only able to stay 21 days. Then out the door we go. We exhausted every resource in Tucson that we found ourselves. So we are now living at the park she is 2nd trimester in her pregnancy and I have stage 3 congestive heart failure and legally blind. Too many homeless people who choose that lifestyle and exhausting resources til there bone dry that those of us who are sober; there is nothing left. I am grateful that was 21 days we were not on the street

The staff was very nice..they helped me with many resources here in Tucson. I really felt the warm welcome they gave me. Started a new life here and I really appreciate the staff.

Beware of the worker named Dee at this organization she has anger issues and takes it out on innocent clients. I got in trouble for asking her not to touch my things because I have Neutropenia which she didn't know. I got yelled at, put down, publicly humiliated and written up and she tried to argue with me when I asked for 5 minutes because I just got back and I had another meeting with another case worker after I was gone all morning. I got told she deals with a lot of woman every day and that's not a valid excuse at all since you work for a social service organization. That's like me saying a case worker at DES see's a lot of people a day so give them a break and I was a case worker with 7 cases 5 days a week but you love your job. Don't work with people if you aren't nice, compassionate, respectful, understanding, show dignity to people who are struggling and you can't have anger issues and start fights yourself but she does daily. Staff also don't tell you correct times and instructions are yelled out in a room with 20 plus women. I felt so humiliated I cried the rest of the day and wanted to go back to my car but some of the kind ladies who are struggling like me gave me HOPE that I will get out of here and not be homeless. I struggle with anxiety, depression and PTSD so that now caused to close back up and go back to my corner of safety. I will now no longer even talk to avoid any more write ups because I was treated horribly. Woman don't deserve that we are already homeless and it's a shame treat us with respect, dignity and compassion especially if you want it in return but I see Dee requires it without showing it in return so she is using her power in the wrong way, help uplift woman not put them down. My case manager then says after the write up, I hope this doesn't bring you down. It most definitely put me right back into the depression I had the first day coming into the shelter so thanks for the kick back down when I had just started being happy again. 😭 Update - when you exit you are not allowed to get your things when the it's not busy you must do it during the hours of 9 to 4 which I will have to return back to the organization even when it was open to get my belongings after being denied them yesterday. I couldn't even exit the program without a problem and they don't tell you this on the phone because I called to let them know to free the bed for another woman in need. Tia was uncompromising and I didn't have gas to go in the first place since I never could get picked for the work program and my case manager couldn't provide help with a gas card as I was told she could and I'm a domestic violence survivor and my abuser has already attacked someone else so it's not safe for me to use the bus but tomorrow I have to. I would like to Thank Tracy, I forgot the lady there that morning when I left but her too Gabby and Larissa who I wish I got as a case manager because she could relate to my struggle so I felt understood by her. You ladies made me feel welcomed and cared for God bless.

This Shelter helped me so many times and so Grateful to have this kind of place in Tucson remember it's not place called home it's only a temporary shelter in order for you to get on your feet by looking for a full-time job or if you're on SSI with that this shelter helps you to get a place of your own they help that person if your willing enough to help yourself. It's definitely a great shelter the staff and volunteers are very professional. Thank you for kindness while I stayed here.
