The lady in the front was extremely rude. If I ever go back again I will need to get her name. I rescued a pair of dogs and I felt like I was getting grilled for doing the right thing. Everyone else there was very nice. Someone should remind her what she's doing there.

The Ventura County animal service staff were amazing. They were all super friendly. You can tell how much they love their animals. The adoption process was simple and easy. This is my second time adopting from them. The first was from the Camarillo shelter and this one is from the Simi Valley location. Both places were clean and all the animals were well taken care of

The stars don't really work for the review I am writing here, the problem is the billing and citation center is in Newport Beach an the animal shelter is in Ventura. Only to complicate matters, MY animal shelter will always be Agoura An Shelter because it is right down the street. Ventura shelter is relatively far from me, I am right on the LA / Ventura Line.

So, to get to the point, I have dealt with animal control over the summer, I had just gotten my cattle dog, and animal control came down. He was great, and although the situation was frustrating, he helped me through it.

Some time later, maybe a couple months, I received two different licensing bills for my dog. I tried to get through to the right people, to find out which bill was correct, and I couldn't reach them. I guess they sent another, but in addition to work, I also go to SF and various other places to be with my folks and family.

Today I received a bill for $130 for a dog license. Even today it was very frustrating to get through to the office!!! They must not hire enough people to handle it?

Friendly staff but the adoption process almost makes it not worth it. You have to be quick enough to sign up for the waitlist right at 9am on their website. I did it two days straight for two different dogs and I was unsuccessful. Guessing I’m too slow for the process.

Had a 100 pound dog attack last week and this week, same dog. Called animal control to help. Guy showed up 6 hours later and was super dismissive and rude. 3 separate people in the community approached him because we are scared this dog will attack us and our pets and he dismissed everyone multiple times. With employees like this definitely will make me drive to a different shelter with more helpful staff. I use to work at a shelter in Phoenix so I know how protocol and attitude towards people should be. Super disappointed because I was looking to start volunteering here soon. Agoura hills hopefully needs help.
