Have you ever been abused by a family member or friend or anyone?
Answer this, have you ever been choked, slammed on and cused out? Yes? Then you have been abused.
That's my story and the abuser is someone I loved and protected from going to jail. I have learned through classes at Shepherd's Door that I can love someone and NOT accept the abuse. That I have self worth and that the love I feel is to be protected and shared with someone that loves me back and won't harm me.
I am thankful to Shepherd's Door for listening to me and NOT judging me!
Thank you to all staff, volunteers and Ms. Linda for giving us a safe place to go and all the resources that has helped me begin the healing process. I used to hate my circumstances and, Ms. Linda and Ms. Shirley showed me " love should not hurt" and I don't have to hate, just heal. Thank you!
