As a former foster parent, I was disheartened to learn how much less support is received by kinship foster families. I was so grateful to hear about Seeds Community Center, and their mission to serve these children and their family members who have stepped up to care for them. From enrichment activity scholarships to support groups for the parents, they have met these families where they are and work hard to fill the gap so that these deserving families have what they need to be successful. I highly recommend them to anyone involved in Kinship care!

Seeds Community Center provides excellent support for kinship families. Before becoming a volunteer, I was not aware of the extensive role kinship caregivers play in the lives of children. Thanks to my experience with Seeds, I have gained a deeper understanding of this often-overlooked need. SCC is doing an outstanding job of empowering kinship caregivers to provide a positive and enjoyable childhood for these children.

Seeds Community Center is a great local nonprofit that works with kinship families (aunts, uncles, grandparents, and other family members that are raising kids). I've been a volunteer with them for almost 10 years, and they do really great work. There's a monthly support group for kinship caregivers with a free dinner and child care.

This was such an amazing support group for us! It was comforting to hear the journeys of others in similar positions. Also, the facilitators provided dinner, child care and helpful resources and information each month. They also held special events such as “parents night out” which offered free babysitting so we could have a worry-free date night. We are forever grateful for this foster kinship support group.

SCC is a non profit that is making a big difference in our Tucson community! I have been a long time volunteer with this org and I can say that the staff are incredible; full of heart, service and a desire to make every family they serve feel loved and cared for!
