We miss placed our annual parking pass
That was purchased through the kiosk at the vasona Lake and Santa Clara county parks and Rec make no effort whatsoever to replace said pass they told me that we have to spend another $95 even though I showed proof of Purchase. Santa Clara county should get their act together and be able to figure this out. The supervisor told me that they cannot do it because their system is inadequate and yet when it comes to taxpayer collecting some government agencies are years ahead of others. This is the type of stuff that’s going to make a voter not wanna vote for increase spending or increase preservation of Santa Clara County parks and it should go the way of privatization.

I am astonished that the parks department has so little interest in providing passes to disabled veterans. The Federal and State and most Ca County Parks Dept. do. It is time to review the Santa Clara Park dept. in respect to their attitude towards veterans.

Don't take your family to The "Woodlands Youth camp" in Joseph Grant park. It is 15 mins walk from parking lot. That makes it hard for families to lug camping gear to it. They should not call this a "youth" camp. At least one 4 year old (in our group ) slipped and fell as he got tired walking back and forth. He cried as his knees were scrapped.

At the entrance, a kindly Park Ranger greeted us at the gate to Joseph Grant park. He told us that we can temporarily drive up to our campsite to drop off our camping gear. However, we have to drive our car out of the Woodlands Youth Campsite after that - which we did comply. When it was time to leave, I drove my car into camp to load my camping gear back into it. Another ranger drove his truck and blocked our exit. 3 other families were hit with parking tickets from this 2nd ranger. There was a metal pole on one side of the road so that he could block us. We were "setup" and trapped! If the park really did not want us to load/unload in there, their ranger should not have told us that we could load/unload at campsite. They would put a bar across the dirt road.
Again since this Youth Camp is far from parking, it should not be called Youth. They should have warned us on their website that there's a long distance to walk from parking lot to camp.
