I don't recommend living here. When I lived here one of the men's showers was broken. There's better shelters out there.

Salvation Army Harbor house is an excellent place where some very highly dedicated volunteers work to help poor people to provide with shelter, food, clothing & other necessary items.
I took some food items for a family to memorialize their parent's death on October 2, 23. The kitchen staff was very nice. They came out & helped me carry all the items Inside & thanked me several times for my services. What a noble cause. I was very impressed. Good work. Keep it up.

When your wet and cold, get inside, don't care if it's a doorway. They could offer a breakfast for children.

Says they only help women and children and families now, said they couldn't help me....it was a bad situation with family I can't live with, especially during holidays, but did anyways. Imagine if I was out on the streets. I guess not having a family of my own or being a man would have had me dying on a street corner instead. Screw you Harbor House! I guess it's better to be around toxic parents and people who made me homeless in the first place than get some help, because I'm a man with no loved ones. Screw you again, have a terrible Thanksgiving! I was even polite and said thank you to the guy on the phone telling me this. I wish I would have cussed him out and hung up. Harbor House is Horrible apparently. No wonder so many men off themselves these days. Having testacles and being single with no children also gives me no shelter at the only place open 24 7!! Guess I'll just die out here eventually!!! You shouldn't even get one star. Give me back my star, enjoy the roof over YOUR head!!!!

When I moved to Columbia, first thing I noticed was my credit rating was too low to rent anything. The Harbor house took me in, didn't charge me anything, just asked me to save atleast half of my paychecks for future housing, stayed there 3 months, found a good job, worked on my credit and left just right before my 90 days. Today my credit score is now high enough to rent apartments, I'm driving a fairly new car, and got credit cards for emergencies now, funny how I got this started with a secured credit card, now I have 2 more real credit cards, Thanks Harbor House!
