I visit Sale Ranch Animal Sanctuary in Temecula every year for their Spring Dinner and Thanksgiving Dinner, and it truly is one of the most magical places I’ve ever been. The Sale family cares so deeply for their animals, and their mission is something I admire immensely. Every visit fills my heart.

The sanctuary is home to rescued animals from all kinds of situations—including disabled goats who even have their own wheelchairs! The compassion and dedication shown to each animal is incredibly moving. The property itself is also beautiful and peaceful, making every visit feel like a soul-refreshing experience.

All proceeds from events go directly back to the ranch and the care of the animals, which makes supporting them feel even more meaningful. We make the drive from Los Angeles twice a year just to be there, and it’s always worth it.

I highly recommend visiting during one of their open ranch days or attending one of their planned dinners—you will not be disappointed. They also welcome volunteers, and if I lived closer, I would be there all the time!

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the area and the time communing with these very special farm animals and dogs. A SPECTACULAR DAY weather wise and all the volunteers were very friendly and fun to chat about the animals' stories where they came from and now how well they are loved and cared for here at the sanctuary. I donated to this sanctuary, and I was very much looking forward to being here. This was an early birthday present for my sisterband she really enjoyed her time. We will visit again in the future. Jen does great things here for rescued farm animals. Volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable. Open house is a must-see event in the fall, Christmas and spring.

Here’s what makes me happy: places where people love, respect and believe that all sentient beings are valuable in and of themselves rather than for the commodities they produce or become. That is Sale Ranch in a nutshell. Devotion and contentment are palpable there—and not just from the volunteers; the animals are clearly happy, too. Such a beautiful place. You can truly feel the love for all the animals being helped here. Spoke with the owner and learned that the farm is fully off grid operating fully sustainably. They even grow enough produce to share with the local food bank. Our kids loved seeing all the animals too.
