Horrible experience with these people. My family and I needed help desperately a couple years back and these people made it more difficult than it had to be. Having to deal with homelessness with a child is heartbreaking and then to have these people be rude and act like bullies was beyond soul crushing. One lady, I wish I could remember her name. She had an odd A-line hair cut with thick rimmed glasses. She was abrasive and didn’t let anyone speak. She didn’t listen to what I was asking or saying and treated me like I was less than. Her co worker was meek and just let her speak over everyone and never defended clients. The lack of compassion is startling. The “ladies” there would roll their eyes or just act completely fed up with their jobs which exacerbated the situation. They definitely take advantage of their positions and act like they are above people and we’re suppose to sit there and take it because we’re asking for help. When trying to express how I felt and my uncomfortably I was told by one of the female staff, “Well, maybe you should get a place to live and you’ll never have to deal with us again.”
Absolutely revolting.
I since moved out of town and I now volunteer for San Jose family centers to try to give back and I’ll never forget how these people taught me how NOT to act.
