Our family was a foster family with Saint Francis Community Services for several years. We always felt like our best interests were in mind when we had children placed in our home. Our worker was friendly and very attentive to our questions and concerns. She had a lot of experience, and had been a foster parent herself, so she was able to see things from our perspective as well as from the foster care worker perspective. We loved the support groups and fellowship with other foster families that we attended for training hours.

A true living nightmare, this local agency is corrupt to the point that Jennifer the old supervisor had to appear in court and resign. All of the children that should have been reunited were taken away by how corrupt she was. They do everything in their power to keep children in their agency as long as possible. They don't even consider the other parent as kinship placement when you're in two separate households. The case workers have mental problems with control and authority, they always brag about how they have custody of children. They use the agency in place of the juvenile justice system and that is sickening. The new supervisor Malacie is useless and rarely or never responds to any parent. If your child is placed with this Emporia agency then you're more than likely never going to get your child back from them unless you have thousands to spend on a private attorney. The case workers constantly put the children down and expect parents to do things that they don't even get reimbursed for. Give the parents custody if you want them to step up financially. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with this twisted agency, I hope they get sued again. A little girl passed away in their care at Melvern lake due to lack of supervision and this agency still did everything they could to NOT pay for any funeral costs. Absolute lack of accountability with these narcissistic case workers.
