Why does California Mentors hide its corporate identity? California Mentors is part of the Mentor Network, a private charitable foundation which changed its name a couple of years ago to Sevita, a name which cannot be identified with anything in particular. California Mentors has a local office which it calls the Redwood Coast Regional Center for a program it calls the Family Home Agency. It was even harder to determine that funding comes from the government through the Department of Social Services. Since California Mentors is funded by the taxpayers, it should be more transparent. Does the local office have a Director?

So, this is a government agency, meaning, its staff is under paid and overworked. There is a high turnover rate, and you constantly get new case workers. That said, they’ve had my son’s back for 13 years for the big issues (like assigning behaviorists and a crisis team) and the small (like hooking him up with a gym membership). My son was diagnosed in a time where the regional centers were better funded — the golden age, if you will — but the staff’s dedication to serving children, teens, and adults with disabilities hasn’t wavered.

RCRC has been an awesome service that has helped my family in so many ways. Our social worker, Yolanda, who was originally assigned to our son's case was extremely helpful and responsive, and I felt very supported. The abundance of resources available to people with disabilities in our area is something I do not take for granted.

There services are below average social workers don't seem to care about there clients. Had a incendent where a SLS agency and a former SLS worker went off and released personal information on a client over a incendent very unprofessional!
Regional Center hardly helped with that issue. Sad to see a agency that is supposed to help people with disabilities not doing there job correct. Very sad!

Difficult to find those who govern the organization. Cannot find the Executive Director or the Board of Directors. Their web site makes searches for BOD MINUTES difficult. Can’t find the name of the Ex Director. And why are there So many languages on sites? This is a taxpayer service paid for by Californians and Americans? I have been trying to figure out these simple questions and I challenge anyone to find these basic questions Please try!!

Very slow getting things done... if you give a time estimate than at least call giving updates
Im autistic and if i give someone a time estimate for something than its done with in the time I gave or if it cant be (rarely happens) then i give them the new estimate
