Im a Owner Operator Truck driver. I delivered a load and the place i delivered to left some food products on my trailer. I was about to trash it just to get it out my trailer. Then I decided to call a shelter to see if I can give it to them. I called and Robert answered. I explained my situation to him. He said he will be happy to except it. So I drove their, Robert and I think the other guy name was Trent. I just know he was wearing a burgundy sweat suit. Sorry if I got your name wrong. Anyways they got the stuff off my trailer. I'm happy I was able to give it to them instead off throwing it in the trash. Robert and the other guys I spoke with was extremely friendly.

They couldn’t help me because I was Transgender, Once the lady did an intake she said she would call me back, never called me back, never followed up or even had the courtesy to help me with anything else they just left me high and dry and waiting for over an hour to be seen and get to talk to someone..

Very unaccepting and not actually about getting you back to work, they just want you to go through a program , make the money off you being there then theyll look for anyreason to send you out , half the staff is chill and understanding people , the other half claims to be in gods light but i think theyre are thinking of a different god than i know, in addition if you are actually looking to get your life together just go to the beacon shelter in dunn anyway you can, very open and hoenst guys who actually want you to succeed in life and will do whatever they can to ensure your stability in life
Update: I'm on my way to buying a car and an apparent thanks to the beacon , raleigh rescue mission is such a waste of time , they don't let you get a job for three months, make you work for the program and make you do pointless classes , beacon got me a job in 5 days , don't let RRM fool you with the masks they hide behind, I got reprimanded for asking for pens to learn electrical repair after giving me the run around for 2 weeks, just weird seeing everyone drive luxury cars but can't get some pens

James is very condescending in my opinion.I came for help after already stating that I was a former client the week prior and they told me to come on Tuesday at 10 which I did just for them to say they just recently put a hold on accepting former clients. James couldn’t remember whether or not I was a good client or not or even my name but he remembered me getting diagnosed with a mental disorder which never happened.Very disrespectful I’d say.

Their facilities are great. They seem to want to help, however, I have had a stay at the South Wilmington Street Center and encountered some of the same issues. I am currently enrolled in their "New Life" program which is supposed to span a time of 18 months. I have currently attended for a week now. The program is structured great, and the facilities are decent. However, the staff an residents seem to have a problem with allowing "White Flag" guests, who obviously have no where to go, being in the building. They literally unplugged the main cable attachment to make it seem as if thede was no cable on the tv's in their entertainment room. I had to search for channels on each tv using the attenna function when they offer cable service that provides many more channels. When I asked about if they could fix it I was told that Hurricane Florence was the cause. They also make us work while in their "New Life" program which is fine with me. However, in order to save on janitors they give us chores like cleaning the bathroom. I am a firm believer in maintaining the place that you live, but not everyone feels that way. So, having to clean pee off of the floor and doodoo off of toilet seats and walls because of nasty dirty old men is not part of my criteria. I've been living here for about 2 weeks now and their protocol is all out of whack. Not all of the CSS workers are the problem but their system of communication is clearly failing the residents that they have brought in for their New Life program. I will have more to post later and future updates for as long as I am in the program.

Review written by "Casablanca," that is I... I will give this place 5 stars because they were true to their word, That nobody will stop you from leaving. Everyone there is very nice and most pleasant as well, I felt guilty about deciding to leave so I did not tell anyone. If anyone were to read this review that would be the first that they would know. I stayed there 8 days and it felt like 8 months. The 9th month I just couldn't take it anymore and I'm presently out and doing my deliveries and making money. Might even get a job.

This program is very good, And I thought long and hard about leaving a program where everything is 100% free all they want you to do is save your money. But they also don't want you to get a job 43 or 4 months and that, to whoever is rating is counterproductive. I wrestled with Stang and going through phase 1 phase 2 phase 3 phase 4 phase 5... But I realized that I already had those skills. This program really is for those with nowhere else to go, Is nothing else going for them, you really willlearn skills about how to get a job and this and that. My problem is that I know all that stuff already and I'm coming in were not having to work as a disadvantage and could actually cause problems for me.

So I left.

I do want my food stamps though... So maybe I'll show up if they tell me it gets mailed there. Or maybe I'll provide a new address.. Not sure yet. I have to cut this review short I got a delivery from a 24 hour CVS I made $81 yesterday in 10 hours. I can do better than that. And RRM? I can do better than that, too. Praise God.

Sincerely, "Casablanca"

They helped me get my G.E.D, and although I was terminated from the program, I am really glad I was able to learn to push through the circumstances of life and take care of my kids through the routine that they had when i was there. Life will not stop just because you are depressed, you still have to get up and get the kids ready, go to work, etc. That's what I learned, and I'm grateful
