I've attended the QIC since it's opening two summers ago. It has become a regular part of my week and has helped me make countless connections with other members of the community. It is entirely volunteer-run organization, there are no "employees" just members of the community who are trying to make a third space for people who are different to join together.
I can't say enough good things about the friendships and support systems I've developed because of this facility. I'm proud that such an amazing place exists in my hometown.

I attended twice for a short time. No coordinator/facilitator makes for insular pockets of social engagement—clique-y but not abrasive. The facility is monitored and you have to be buzzed in, which is great for safety—in theory—but only if someone’s actually paying attention instead of just hitting the button mindlessly. 🚪

I saw someone lamenting an event cancellation on social media, and the official rep was snarky instead of sympathetic, blaming the community patron for the organizers' negligence. Bad, bad look. 👎

I disengaged entirely after that. Admin changes take time, so I might try again in the future—but hopefully after the snarky rep is gone. 🙅‍♂️
