As a mother of a Paradigm client I am most concerned about my daughter’s safety. That being said, from the van driver who picks her up to her Independent Living Skills worker who works with her twice weekly, and staff who assist her during the day, I always feel that her and the other clients well-beings are Paradigm’s utmost priority. Knowing that my child is safe and secure is paramount. My daughter loves the social and academic activities provided by Paradigm. I am so thankful that her days are filled with staff who nurture and care for her.

Our daughter has participated in the Paradigm program since 2016. We have been very happy with the services and care that she has received. She likes the program very much. She thoroughly enjoys the activities and opportunities provided to her. Her life has been improved by these experiences. The staff members go out of their way to meet the needs of all participants. The Pandemic has provided difficulties for all involved, but the people at Paradigm have continually tried to help their participants through individual contact both through using Zoom calls and individual activities. As a family we are looking forward to a resumption of daily face-to-face services.

I used to volunteer at paradigm and loved it. My grandma has worked there a long time and I would go with her during my summer breaks from school and one year my whole class took a field trip there and it was so much fun to interact with everyone. The staff and students are amazing and it’s always been an amazing place. They did all kinds of stuff from small outings to movies to baking and cooking to also learning activity as well. I always had fun and it will always have a special place in my heart.

I have mentored university students working on projects with Paradigm Adult Services Inc. since 2011and have consistently been impressed with the quality of the programs and services provided by the owners and instructors, as well as the professionalism of the firm's operations. My students' experiences with the firm have always been very positive, as have their observations of the instructors' interactions with the adults Paradigm serves. This program is open. They are open for services at both sites.
I have been working with Paradigm since 2009 at both sites Carmel and Salinas. I personally feel this this is an outstanding program. They have a great rapport with all their students. The students love all the different activities, being out in the community. Students love the freedom to pick and choose what they want to do. I give this program 5 stars across both locations.

The first time I volunteered at paradigm was when I was in middle school. My grandmother had been employed with them and I was looking for an easy way to get volunteer hours to graduate, I was not looking forward to it nor did I care to even show up but I knew I had to regardless. Then I remember my grandmother, telling me about someone who had Alzheimer’s at the program, who was a chess master and was in the army for many years. She knew that would intrigue me as I enjoy chess. I remember I walked in and was not used to the atmosphere, I felt out of place, but finally i was introduced to him, he repeated the same story or sentence 5-10 times as if it was the first time he had told you, but when it came to free time and bringing out the board games I challenged him to chess at least 5 times that day and he beat me every time without hesitation. I admired his skill and still do to this day. Then I meet others there whom I helped learn Spanish, write letters from the alphabet and we played wii bowling, I fell in love with paradigm and those who attended the program, I grew a new found love and appreciation for the world and all of us who live in it. I only beat the chess master once out of the at least 50 times that I challenged him, and listened to every story he said with enthusiasm no matter how many times he repeated it, and I listened to everyone, all of their stories with enthusiasm, no matter how hard it may have been to interpret at first and realized it was not just a program but a family, and any family no matter how long continues to grow together. That is why after I graduated middle school and knew I needed hours high school I was more than happy to volunteer here again when I knew I had many other options to do so. Even in my adult life I never forget the experiences and the people I’ve meet as they are all beautiful people and a beautiful place where all can grow no matter our level of learning or disabilities.
