Supervisor Joanna told me that I need to take care of my own child and they are not a baby sitting service and also Lynette venegas told me that they are not a baby sitting service and I should take care of my own child.
Having a child who's on the autistic spectrum is more difficult than a normal child and you definitely need outside support and their complete lack of empathy is why I am posting this review and I urge everyone who has been turned away to report this agency to the state controller office and request their federal funding is investigated because this agency gets billions in federal funding to help the handicap and if they are telling you that they are not a baby sitting service then they need their federal funding stripped.

Soooooooooooooooooo bad. I tried to get gov assisted health benefits due to being laid off and losing my health insurance. Phone calls don’t go through and they only communicate by mail. I was scheduled for an “interview” with a case worker on the same day that I received the letter in the mail informing me of the appointment and it didn’t matter anyway because they never called. If you do talk to someone, expect there to be 10 other people you’re supposed to attempt to contact for answers and probably more forms to fill out. Also, don’t expect them to actually review your claims, they will just go into limbo for months until they’re denied with no reason.

Case worker was insensitive made me feel like I didn’t need the food stamps because I live with my partner and he made enough yes enough to pay rent and bills I asked a couple of questions of IRT for a family of 3 kept saying idk I said like you can’t help me with that she kept saying idk idk, she got offended because i started speaking Spanish like i don’t know she doesn’t but when I leave I saw a man getting drugged on fancy Lexus a lot of them have nice cars I’ve worked as a cashier and all those fancy clothes cars even there pursed and get like $800 food stamps but I have to to prove I can’t afford it some else said they made her take everything out of her purse to check if she had cash on her! She looked Mexican middle class like me why are we getting treated like that!

They gave me misinformation multiple times in regards to how to renew my benefits. I called almost every day for 1 week in a row, put on hold for hours, and was either told the wrong information as to what to submit to renew my CalFresh or that they couldn’t see what I had submitted at all. Even after confirming what I had to put on my documents, and asking over and over again if that was all I had to include, they would forget to include a document I had to submit and they did not tell me to write down a minor detail that resulted in my case being closed. I’m very upset as I have been waiting for my EBT card to reload for a month and time after time have just been getting told the wrong information and it wasn’t even my fault in this case that they were unable to renew it.

Public service from his best. You are dealing with this agency. They call you, they write letters to you, they send emails to you and all the time they add the phone number of the case officer. You call the number and get the feedback the number is wrong and can not be dialed.. You call the main switchboard and will get a long announcement. But you cannot speak to your case agent. The only thing I would like to know after 10 days is why she did not read the email she asked me to send her.

I believe when you work in a helpful jobs like that, they have to choose people with good heart. Crystal Carr was absolutely the right person I talked to on the phone. She was so nice. Respectful, and professional. I really appreciate people like you to help people who needs help like me. Thank you social service.
