This is the worst place I have ever worked at! Not only are the People in charge of the schedules (the woman I spoke to) rude, the environment is terrible!!!! I worked in a home where one client was violent and shoved me and the other was asleep in a chair all day basically. The house was filthy and the clients bathroom had no door so they used the bathroom right in front of us. I am extremely saddened by what I saw and was traumatized from day one. Staff are constantly outside and sleeping on the job. DO NOT WORK HERE!!

This is a great place to work if you want to do good and serve people while also learning a great deal about compassion, patients, love, kindness, grace, forgiveness, sense of humor, behavior, intellectual disabilities that affect individuals in our community are people just like everyone else and deserve the utmost respect, since I've worked here I've learned allot about the individuals I have served, it really is a great place for students and persons looking to get experience in working with people whom have intellectual disabilities and related disorders, if you are interested in that career path this is a great place to start! The person who hired me was very helpful, kind, and the company helped me complete the process quickly, the environment is relatively relaxed and often it's a joy to come to work and laugh with co-workers, there are a couple of really positive people who make a huge impact and if it weren't for them then this company would definitely not be the same. I'm so grateful for my position at Options Forward Lodi, and it's taught me allot about the dynamics of other people who are working their as well. Many people who work here work another full time job.. which as you know can be very tiresome, so it's really not a job for someone whom is not patient, not kind, not extremely compassionate..those are the qualifications if you really want to succeed in making the consumers Happy, and after all, that is what we as caregivers go to work for; to serve the consumers and make a difference in their lives. If you work here ..as a d.s.p. yes you are required to have a positive and friendly attitude towards everyone, it's really important that if your thinking of working here that you realize the impact you have on the consumers mood by the attitude you may bring to work, so only upbeat and friendly, caring and patient, understanding and helpful, graceful and honest, need apply, Options Forward has amazing d.s.p. workers, some of which have been working there for a very long time, they are also family owned and family members work within the organization, it's really nice knowing that even if something is going wrong.. eventually like all families..the truth comes to light after communication is worked out, the team work that takes place is a family model, nobody is above each other in rank, I feel that is really good and helps the humility of the d.s.p. workers to remain, the supervisors have been great at being upfront about what needs to be worked on and telling you asap and not waiting, the turn over sometimes is high which is really unfortunate and sad ....for the consumers who also grow close to us, the d.s.p.'s, I wish that people who applied here and work here would decide to stay longer even if only a few hours a week, simply because of the family care aspect built. Do consider donating to this organization, monetary, and or gift cards, clothing, do contact the office first to get clearance for what is the need*. Thanks for reading this, if you work here I promise you it will make you grow and realize what you should be grateful for. The freedom you have as being independent, is very valuable..it's priceless, these individuals do not share that same freedom and depend on honest, kind, giving, patient, loving, gentle, and protective d.s.p.'s!
