Very nice spot for a picnic. Most tables are in the shade. The restroom by the playground is much better than the little one further away, which had no doors and is tiny.
There are also long sets of tables for large groups, under old oak trees, if you seek shade. Very few tables at this park are in full sun.

The raised wooden stage by parking lot is a public facility, usually available to casual visitors because most of the time it isn't reserved. Can be r rented from City of SB, Parks. Cultural festivals are held here on select summer weekends, mostly in mid-and-late July. Other times the stage is a quiet place to sit on bench under shade of sycamore and oak trees. Mission Creek (dry creek bed in the months around summer) is bridged near stage for foot traffic to access the greater, grassy extent of Oak Park. Oak Park's only off street parking area is right here.
The city paved this lot and picnic area across the creek with permeable bricks to filter runoff and keep the creek bed clean, and encourage steelhead to run in wet season. No fishing. No biking or skate boarding on stage proper.

The floor is a tragedy. Such a beautiful spot, but the floor needs to be rebuilt not just patched here and there with spit and duct tape.
I've heard that Santa Barbara Park & Rec is committed to putting a new floor down, so I've removed the photos.
