This is NOT your run of the mill Senior Centers. Lots of activities such as pottery, ceramics, basic drawing, water color paint class, wood carving, several different low impact aerobics classes, just to name a few. It also has a very friendly family atmosphere.

This is one of the best Senior Centers I have ever seen! I brought my friends mother here today for a dance class. I can’t dance or exercise because I have long-haul Covid for the past two years And fight with CFS; but I think I’m going volunteer, to help seniors with their phones and computers since I am a retired IT Professional😉.

Staff was friendly and informative. Facility was clean, spacious and impressive. Very large with plenty of classrooms and activity rooms. There was a plethora of class options such as language classes, pottery, watercolor classes, yoga and weight training. There definitely was something for everyone. 55 + for membership. Afternoon food was available although I got there in the late afternoon so I didnt get to taste it.

Staff weren't pleasant. Ladies behind front counter was eager to speak instead of listening. The Director was better at explaining things but overall after visiting three times WE didn't feel welcomed. I wouldn't recommend bringing elderly family members or elderly clients to this center.

Having been a member since before the new building, so 5 years plus - it saddens me to hear anyone leave with negative feelings about our amazing senior group - guess we all have times when we are not at our best - please find it in your heart to forgive - I can guarantee you this senior center has saved the lives of many of us…. I will share personally, with anyone considering using the facility ( who may have come away disappointed for any reason ) some compelling reasons why they should reconsider. Our senior center is not just a place for mom to spend the day playing bingo & get a warm meal - our seniors are fascinating and have a desire for mental and physical stimulation.
Members far exceed funding - no one expected the 900 people, who showed up for class enrollment & 20 new members on 18 March 2024. Now, that speaks volumes about what an amazing place the Northern Wake Senior Center is & what a great job Jennie Griggs, our Director, her very small staff & volunteers are accomplishing!
PS:: our center is asked to address the needs of someone in recovery from a stroke along side someone with cochlear implants due to severe hearing loss plus the visually impaired then a member with a recent Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis & mobility challenges plus someone looking for mental and physical challenges all in the same class - somehow we are able to get it done - your patience is appreciated with each and everyone of us — as is our own patience with each other. I Love the WFSC, MJ Sothoron

Went to the Center last week to change my insurance coverage options. Worked with Joe. He is such a nice man. Knows his stuff and helped me once again. Thanks Joe!
So glad the Senior Center is there to help us out!

Nice facility and the people who donate their personal time are awesome. However, the people at the front desk are not friendly or welcoming. 3 times I have had them too busy to show me around. She was sitting at the desk. Thankfully the director came and was very pleasant and showed us around. Another time I asked about signing up for classes that seemed to be full when calendar first came out. Was told I would have to figure it out on my own. And the last time was about signing in. I had signed in on the computer and the sign in book. In a huff they came out to make sure I had. Also, filled out the required paperwork and still after 2 months am not on the class roster. I volunteered to help in the office but haven't heard anything back.
