I absolutely love this facility! I had a great time working there and have become passionate about working with special needs clients. The facility offers so many great learning opportunities to those with developmental disabilities and even has a few group homes for those who require nursing care or care givers. Since I was a nurse there, I didn't get to spend much time in the main facility, but every time I was there I was greeted with the most heart warming smiles from the different people who attend the programs there. Great people and great facility.

I wish I could give negative stars

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think a 10+ yr relationship with New Horizons could go so wrong.

I’m shocked and disgusted by the unprofessional treatment that New Horizons has shown toward their consumer and the consumer’s family.

I personally feel so wronged by New Horizons and the consumers life will be forever changed

I am hopeful I can go viral with this story- social media and a local TV station running a human interest story. May help with
rebuilding this person’s life.

As for New Horizons-
Please train your employees correctly- offer them tools and strategies when working with your consumers.

And remember your consumers deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
Show compassion- and common sense .
Train your employees to deescalate a situation and work within the clieability
Don’t blame the consumer for not fitting in

The consumer did not fail the program
The program failed the client

This place is way too restrictive. I lived in one of their group homes, and they're way too restrictive on me. The group homes you live in make you eat dinner strictly at 4:30 PM, that's if you have PKU and high-functioning autism at the same time. Plus the managers of the group homes at this place force you to be told what to do. Also every weekday mornings at the group homes tend to be very hectic and cannot have a quiet morning at all. I'll never move into a New Horizons group home ever again.

I never liked going there. I’m glad I’m out of there. Never again to that place.
