We enjoyed visiting the Navajo shadehouse Museum. There are so many items to look at and very informative information. We learned so much about the code talkers. I even ordered 4 books to learn more about the Navajo Code Talkers.

This was so interesting. The hogans are closed during the winter, but you can still walk around and see the outside and read about the structures. Loved the twig and post shade shelters. It's right in Kayenta between a hotel and the grocery store, near Burger King.

This is a small yet Great museum! Lots to see of Navajo code talkers and Navajo way of life! Super friendly staff and nice gift shop with authentic items made by local Navajo. Don't pass it by!!

Great! A small museum. Also, it is a nice Indian souvenir shop. They do have a lot of collections. It displays the history of the WWII Navajo code talkers.

A very nice place to stop to learn more about the area and the Navajo code talkers. The exhibits are not high quality, but are informative. And although there is no entrance fee, it is worth a donation. We had a very nice enlightening discussion with the curator about Native American life in the area.

Required masks which we didn’t have with us. We’ve traveled through 8 different states on this trip and haven’t needed a mask anywhere. I was excited to see the Code Talker artifacts and info since my boys and I had just read the book “Code Talker”. I asked if they had any masks available and she said no. Nice. If you’re going to require them, especially being one of the only places that still does, at least have some there so guests don’t make a special stop there for nothing. So frustrating!
