Not a supportive experience for a disabled veteran

I’m a disabled USAF veteran, and unfortunately, I did not have a good experience at this Nation’s Finest location. The staff did not seem very welcoming or helpful. I arrived during normal hours, but the facility closes from 12–1, which isn’t very accommodating when veterans rely on these limited time windows for services.

While I appreciated being allowed to use the restroom and offered a cup of coffee, I didn’t receive any meaningful help with the simple task I came in for. Instead, I was told to walk to another building—despite my medical condition and mobility issues—which felt dismissive and unsupportive.

This experience does not align with what Nation’s Finest claims to offer: comprehensive supportive services for veterans, including housing assistance, case management, help navigating VA benefits, and trauma-informed care. None of these were provided or even offered to me. I wasn't guided through any intake process, offered resources, or connected with a case manager.

I left feeling disappointed and overlooked. As someone who has served this country and now lives with a service-connected disability, I expect more from an organization meant to serve veterans with dignity, respect, and real support. I hope this location reconsiders its training and approach—veterans deserve better.

Update- Came back next day and the staff was meeting 09:20-ish. They did allow me a bathroom and coffee, and to sit outside to send emails.

The Nation's Fnest Veterans Services is one of the most wonderful Veteran's affiliated assistance programs I have ever worked with. I wish I could have partnered with such an organization when I included a Veteran's Job and homeless search addition to our SOMA assistance programs. Kelly is the most proficient and well connected with everyone in her veteran's needs. You need something related to you housing search or assistance with special handicapped needs this is the specialist you need. The rest of the staff is just as wonderful but Kelly is my case worker and I'm glad she's my caseworker in my journey to find a šŸ” home.

The people that work there are exceptional and friendly. They're helping me to find a place to live. My prayers are with them all! 1-24 -2024... I just re-enrolled with these folks today! I'm more than sure they will help me to get what I deserve from the V.A!

When you need their help, they seem like a godsend! As you EXPERIENCE their help, their limitations become clear! Most of their staff are well meaning and helpful! Some? Not so much!
Update: twice, in a short time, I had my VA compensation check turn up missing! Be wary!

Tried to get help from them but was told since I was in The Army National Guard I’m excluded from any help. That’s really patriotic of them considering I could have been deployed but as soon as I said National Guard I was hung up on

Very unprofessional. Jennifer is my boyfriends social worker. She’s asked him for the same document three times. He keeps turning in copies and she keeps losing them. She’s loud and doesn’t listen. He has severe ptsd. Why would you think it’s okay so loud when veterans are sensitive to loud noises? He’s done everything she’s asked and he still hasn’t received any help.

Don’t waste your time with this place.

This place is the best place for a veteran to get help. They are doing a great job helping campfire veterans who were displaced by the fire. I would recommend this place for any honorably discharged veteran who needs assistance.
