It has been a wonderful experience at Moorpark’s American Mixed Martial Arts. I love that there is always qualified adult supervision and a feel of consistency and structure. Help with homework and a healthy environment for studying as well as socializing. It really feels like a village helping out when it comes to the care that goes into the care for the kids.
As double income working parents I really appreciate the family like atmosphere where my child can feel safe and I feel comfortable knowing where they are.
Having the Martial Arts classes on top of that has been great for fitness and awareness for young active minds.

Both of my grandsons and I myself are in the programs at American Hapkido MMA Training Center, and have been for over six years. The older child struggled with adjusting to school, and we enrolled him to help him work on his self-discipline and focus. It worked wonders for him both physically and emotionally. He gained improved self-control, and self-image as he worked to move up through the ranks first as a Lil' Dragon (the preschool age pre-Karate program) and now through the Jr. Black Belt program. The studio also has a transported after-school program where they picked him up at his elementary school, and both adult and high-school-aged instructors oversaw the completion of his homework and preparation for each afternoon's classes. This was extremely helpful since both me and my wife were working, and after-school care was an issue. The greatest benefit over time was helping him learn important life-lessons about friends, how to treat people, how to accept and incorporate performance feedback, teamwork, and the myriad of things that come up in a coaching environment like this. Over time, I really appreciated what wonderful people the owners and staff at American Hapkido MMA Training Center and American Hapkido's Lil' Dragons really are, and I decided to start training myself when the oldest moved into the Junior program. It has been very helpful to me, helping me transform my body, losing over 40 pounds, and rolling back much of the softness that had accumulated over the years. If you are looking for something worthwhile to get your child, or even yourself into, I cannot recommend anything better than the programs at American Hapkido's Lil' Dragons and American Hapkido MMA Training Center. As soon as my granddaughter turns four, she will join us training (since I think it is even more important for girls than boys to learn a martial art).

I've belonged to a few different martial art studios in my life, and American Mixed Martial Arts in Moorpark is by far the best I've experienced. I don't think any other studio has given me as much confidence or made me feel as prepared to defend myself as American MMA. Master Anderson is excellent at teaching the true value of learning martial arts; his breadth of knowledge on various styles is vast, and he has pushed me further than any other instructor in the past. More than just learning techniques (and you'll learn lots of awesome techniques), this studio excels at emphasizing the real-life application of what you learn and applying the principles across other aspects of your life. You won't find a nicer group of instructors!

We give American Mixed Martial Arts our highest recommendation. They are like a second family to us. Both of our kids started their training there at the age of 5 and now one is a black belt candidate and the other one is right behind him.

AMMA offer a wide variety of services to meet everyone’s needs and lifestyle, such as martial art classes for youths, adults, after school transport program for students, and an all day, summer camp. The training is multi-dimensional and purposeful. The students are taught self defense, respect, discipline and most importantly, build self esteem and confidence. These values go beyond the four walls of the studio as they are important life skills and lessons.

The classes are taught by black belt instructors who are all former and/or current students at the studio. Kim and Dan, the owners of the studio, care deeply about their students and it shows. The parents of the students are encouraged to be involved and to discuss any concerns/issues with the students, even if they don’t involve training, such as academics and behavioral issues.

If you’re looking for a multi-discipline MMA training in a family oriented atmosphere where the instructors are welcoming and highly trained, you need to check out AMMA.
