The mission and the church are beautiful. If you like historic buildings and architecture it’s a great way to spend a couple of hours in San Francisco. For a family of five the tour was about $30.

Mission Dolores is a gem. Much of it is original from 1791, when the church building was completed. The simplicity of the interior is adorned by beautiful art. The historic graveyard also contains an Ohlone willow dwelling in recognition of the original inhabitants of the area. There is also a very nice gift shop at the exit.

A wonderful self guided tour. It reminded me of exploring old historic churches in Europe. The basilica is gorgeous. I got a lot more visceral sense of the history of San Francisco. (I never noticed before that the city is named after Saint Francis!) The people at the counter were very friendly and engaging; I got some spontaneous excellent restaurant recommendations from one of them and an education on cooking awesome gumbo from the other. The whole thing was $10, absolutely worth it. I’d take more experiences like this over most of the common tourist stuff anytime. If you have to choose between this and seeing the Golden Gate Bridge, I’d for sure recommend this. Not as grand or famous, but far richer to see in person in my opinion.

This mission is just gorgeous in all of its original glory. The chapel took our breaths away. So much to look at and read and see. The outside original cemetery was so very interesting and extremely well looked after. They also offer a lovely gift shop, as in the cherry on top. A must see oh, and I did I say this chapel is the oldest building in SF that survived all of the earth quakes and fires.

This was such a lovely piece of history to explore. The original mission church and grounds were beautiful and peaceful to wander around. We were unable to check out the larger basilica as there was a wedding happening when we were there. This was well worth the $7 entrance fee.

We so enjoyed our visit here! What an amazing community. Very reverent and full of history. It was amazing - while we were there a young organ student was practicing and it sounded incredible. If we were in town again, we’d enjoy coming back!

Everything a church should have... Beautiful stained glassworks, serenity, peace, and serving the local Mission community. I've always brought my out of town guest to this part of town. Now, with the holiday season, the festivities shone!
